A primary nonfunctioning graft, the complication that develops in less than 5% of patients within the first 24-48 hours after hepatic transplantation, is responsible for high death rates in recipients. Its manifestations are an extremely grave clinical condition, hypotension, unconsciousness, progressive signs of hepatocytic insufficiency with increases in bilirubin levels and serum transaminase activities, addition of renal failure, and development of multiple organ dysfunctions. Eight patients underwent a total of 17 albumin dialysis sessions (1 to 5; mean 2.

A comparative analysis of the treatment results after 36 months of follow-up demonstrated higher safety of trospium chloride which showed the same efficacy with oxibutinin hydrochloride.

Clopidogrel was given to all patients at least in 2 hours before primary angioplasty and no less than in 6 hours in combined reperfusion. Composite end point (total number of lethal outcomes and nonfatal reinfarctions) was significantly higher in group 1 (14.

Microsatellite (TTTA)n and 3-bp deletion of CYP19 and single-nucleotide polymorphism T27C of CYP17 were analyzed in 123 BC patients and 119 healthy women. Of the six (TTTA)n alleles observed, allele (TTTA)8 proved to be associated with BC (11.

Using electron microscopic techniques, we investigated bioptats of the ovaries of patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome after treatment with clostilbegit, which exerted only insignificant effects. We observed an increases in the intensify of proliferation of the connective tissue elements in the ovaries with the involvement of immunopathological processes against the background of tissue and circulatory hypoxia.

The level of NO formation is increased at the initial stage of glaucoma and decreases with the disease progress. A direct correlation between the level of nitrite in aqueous humor and coefficient of easiness of its discharge was detected.

132 patients (mean age 46.9 +/- 1.4 years) with exacerbation of gastroduodenal ulcer (GDU) positive by Helicobacter pylori (HP) were examined clinically and using laboratory tests.

Two months after the injury, bilateral electric cataract developed in the presence of posttraumatic cerebral angiodystonia and polyneuropathy. Both eyes were operated on and intraocular lenses were implanted with good results.

The characteristic features of lacrimal crystallograms of such patients consist in changed ratio of the crystallization zones with disappearance of the intermediate zone and appearance of stellate structures on crystallograms of patients with progressing cataracts. The method of lacrimal crystallography is suggested to be used in examinations of patients with glaucoma.

Comparison of the content of protein and protein fractions in aqueous humor and blood serum of patients with glaucoma and different degree of lens opacity showed that, in contrast to senile cataract, cataract in a glaucomatous eye forms when the permeability of the blood-eye barrier is increased, which justifies the administration of drugs stabilizing it.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBiochemical changes in the chamber humor play an important role in the pathogenesis of primary open-angle glaucoma and are largely determined by the permeability of the blood-eye barrier. Comparative study of total protein content in the chamber humor in mature and far advanced glaucoma showed that the disease involves a progressive increase in the permeability of the blood-aqueous humor barrier, which may be due to dystrophic changes in ocular tissues in the course of glaucoma progress and accumulation of metabolites damaging the biological membranes in the chamber fluid or to antiglaucoma drugs increasing the permeability of the blood-humor barrier.

In 45 patients arthritis developed after nasopharyngeal infection and was marked by a favourable course with a rapid positive dynamics. 7 children with a history of intestinal infection manifested Reiter's syndrome; in these children arthritis was characterized by a grave and prolonged course and by a high laboratory activity.

The local use of antibacterial agents in combination with proteolytic enzymes against the background of rational general immunocorrective therapy permitted to cure without operative intervention 124 patients. Four patients were operated on.

The effect of agonists and antagonists of alpha- and beta-adrenoreceptors on mechanical properties of the smooth muscle was studied in the isolated muscle strips of the human umbilical artery and vein. Noradrenaline was shown to cause the contraction of smooth muscles of the umbilical vein. Tonic and phase components in the contraction process were observed.

An analysis of spectra points to partial ordering of polymer chains in the films and possible formation of secondary structure of collagen molecules by alpha-helix type. Distinction of gel spectra from those of films is explained by unordered rotation movements of the chain fragments at the expense of "superspiralization" of collagen molecules.
