[An evaluation of the radioprotective action of antioxidants on normal human cells and in genomic diseases by using different cytogenetic tests].

In studying the radioprotective action of natural and synthesised antioxydants a decreased yield of chromosome aberrations with respect to those in untreated cells was noted in normal cells irradiated in phase G1 whereas no radioprotective effect was found in cells irradiated in G0. The addition of antioxydants into the cell cultures from patients with Turner's syndrome did not change their radiosensitivity. No adaptive response was induced in lymphocytes from patients with Down's syndrome cultivated with vitamin E.

[The effectiveness of one-year internship in a clinical specialty and possibilities of its improvement].

The tests applied to assess interns' qualification in different cities of the country indicate defects in the current system of postgraduate training in the internship. Measures to update the system are suggested.

[Problem of clinico-roentgenological diagnosis of acute pneumonia in infants in their first few months of life].

Studies into the problems of diagnosing pneumonia in children of the first months of life carried out for many years have shown that pneumonia may be referred to the diseases with indefinite diagnostic criteria. In view of this fact the x-raying of the chest should be regarded as a method of varifying the diagnosis of pneumonia. The roentgenographic findings should be estimated bearing in mind the presence or lack of a syndrome such as bronchial obstruction and the epidemiological anamnesis data.
