The pituitary gland is an uncommon site of tumor metastasis in the brain, comprising only 1% of all intracranial metastasis. Large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC) is similarly rare, accounting for only 3% of all lung malignancies in adults. We describe a case of LCNEC of lung origin that metastasized to the pituitary gland.

A linear accelerator-based technique was used at our treatment centre between June, 2004 and August, 2015. Patients were treated supine with extended source-to-surface distance (SSD) lateral fields, and prescription dose was 12 Gy delivered in six fractions, two fractions per day.
