Fe(III) cross-linked cellulose agar beads (Fe-CLCAB) were synthesized by sol-gel method and employed as adsorbents for the removal of phosphate ions from aqueous medium. The synthesized Fe-CLCAB was characterized by its swelling property, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and UV-Vis absorption spectroscopic analysis. Batch adsorption studies were carried out to find out the optimum conditions of phosphate uptake.
