Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) is the second most common nonmelanoma skin cancer. Unlike basal cell carcinoma, regional lymph nodal metastases and subsequent distant site metastases are more common. Up to approximately 2% to 5% of cSCCs can result in distant metastases.
