This case report highlights a complication of pneumothorax associated with dry needling (DN), a technique used for the treatment of myofascial pain syndrome and musculoskeletal disorders. Despite its growing popularity and efficacy in relieving pain, dry needling can lead to adverse events. We present a case of a 35-year-old female who developed pneumothorax following a dry needling session.

A new era in genomic medicine has been brought by the development of CRISPR-Cas technology, which presents hitherto unheard-of possibilities for the treatment of metabolic illnesses. The treatment approaches used in CRISPR/Cas9-mediated gene therapy, emphasize distribution techniques such as viral vectors and their use in preclinical models of metabolic diseases like hypercholesterolemia, glycogen storage diseases, and phenylketonuria. The relevance of high-throughput CRISPR screens for target identification in discovering new genes and pathways associated with metabolic dysfunctions is an important aspect of the discovery of new approaches.

Clinical studies have confirmed significant depletion of GSH in the hippocampus and the substantia nigra as an early diagnostic biomarker for Alzheimer's disease (AD) and Parkinson disease (PD), respectively. External agents like anesthetics (inhaled and intravenous) have a different impact on GSH.

In heart failure, sympathetic overdrive is evidenced by norepinephrine spillover, receptor level changes, etc. Beta-blockers continue to be the cornerstone of treatment in patients with chronic heart failure due to their ability to counteract sympathetic overdrive. Extensive clinical research has demonstrated that long-term beta-blocker treatment with metoprolol succinate, carvedilol, or bisoprolol enhances left ventricular function and reverses left ventricular remodeling, decreases hospitalization risk, and increases survival.

Clinical studies have found significant depletion of GSH from the hippocampus in patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), a transitional stage before conversion to Alzheimer's disease (AD). Significant depletion of GSH is considered an early diagnostic biomarker of AD.

The deposition of neurofibrillary tangles of hyperphosphorylated tau proteins and accumulation of amyloid-β (Aβ) are the main pathological characteristics of AD. However, the actual causal process of AD is not yet identified.

Hypertension detection, treatment, and control vary worldwide; it is still low, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). High blood pressure (BP) and CVD risk have a strong, linear, and independent association.

Unlabelled: A combination of a ruptured sinus of Valsalva (RSOV) with anomaly is a rare and clinically challenging entity. We describe a case of a 29-year-old female who presented with progressive dyspnoea and epigastric discomfort with symptoms and clinical findings not consistent with any single definitive diagnosis. In the primary echocardiography assessment, she was diagnosed with Ebstein anomaly.

Objective: This study aimed to comprehensively evaluate the complications associated with morcellation in Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy (TLH) procedures, providing evidence-based insights to enhance patient safety and surgical efficacy.
Data Sources: A comprehensive literature search was conducted using multiple databases, including PubMed, EMBASE, Google Scholar, and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials. The inclusion criteria were Studies that focused on morcellation and morcellation-related complications were included.
Parkinson's disease (PD) is characterized by extrapyramidal motor disturbances and nonmotor cognitive impairments which impact activities of daily living. Although the etiology of PD is still obscure, autopsy reports suggest that oxidative stress (OS) is one of the important factors in the pathophysiology of PD. In the current study, we have investigated the impact of OS in PD by measuring the antioxidant glutathione (GSH) levels from the substantia nigra (SN), left hippocampus (LH) and neurotransmitter γ-amino butyric acid (GABA) levels from SN region.

The characteristic pathological manifestation of AD includes the deposition of extracellular insoluble β amyloid plaques and intracellular neurofibrillary tangles formed from hyperphosphorylated tau protein. Cost effective and minimally invasive peripheral blood-based biomarkers are critical for early AD diagnosis.

Various neuroimaging-based databases have been developed that mainly consist of volumetric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data. We present the comprehensive web-based neuroimaging platform "SWADESH" for hosting multi-disease, multimodal neuroimaging, and neuropsychological data along with analytical pipelines.

Aquatic environments including irrigation-purpose wastewaters facilitate the emergence and transmission of antibiotic-resistant bacteria and antibiotic resistance genes leading to detrimental effects on human health and environment sustainability. Considering the paramount threat of ever-increasing antibiotic resistance to human health, there is an urgent need for continuous environmental monitoring of antibiotic-resistant bacteria and antibiotic resistance genes in wastewater being used for irrigation in Indian agro-ecosystems.

We present a case of a 76-year-old female patient who presented to our emergency room with an acute stroke and was managed with mechanical thrombectomy. The guideline-directed medical therapy for Heart failure (HF) includes Angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitor (ARNI) (sacubitril/valsartan), β-blockers, sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors, and mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists (MRA). ARNI is under-prescribed in India despite its attractive safety and efficacy profile.

Iron deficiency (ID) with or without anemia is frequently observed in patients with heart failure (HF). Uncorrected ID is associated with higher hospitalization and mortality in patients with acute HF (AHF) and chronic HF (CHF). Hence, in addition to chronic renal insufficiency, anemia, and diabetes, ID appears as a novel comorbidity and a treatment target of CHF.

It is an area of active research and newer treatment strategies are evolving. Recently angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitor (ARNI), a class of drugs (the first agent in this class, Sacubitril-Valsartan), reduces cardiovascular mortality and morbidity in chronic HF patients with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF).

The consumption of petroleum-based plastics will be 20% of global annual oil by 2050, and thus there is an inevitable need to find an innovative solution to reduce plastic pollution. The biodegradable and environmentally benign bioplastics are suitable alternative to fossil-based plastics in the market due to sustainability, less carbon footprint, lower toxicity and high degradability rate.
