Objective: This study compared mandibular growth in children, aged 7 to 12 years, with Class II malocclusion and normal occlusion, between the following stages of cervical vertebrae maturation: initiation (I), acceleration (A), transition (T).
Material And Methods: A total of 148 lateral cephalograms (78 males, 70 females) of Class II malocclusion patients, and 60 lateral cephalograms (30 males, 30 females) of normal occlusion patients were included. The following linear cephalometric measurements were performed: Co-Gn (effective mandibular length), Co-Go (ramus height), and Go-Gn (length of mandibular body).

Introduction: In this study, we aimed to evaluate the changes in dental arch dimensions, tooth size, and incisor crowding in subjects with normal occlusion over a 40-year period.
Methods: A sample of 82 white subjects with normal occlusion evaluated in adolescence and early adulthood was recruited for a third evaluation in their sixth decade of life. The final sample included dental casts of 22 subjects (12 men, 10 women) obtained at mean ages of 13.
This study aimed at monitoring the maxillary growth of children with cleft lip/palate in the first two years of life, and to evaluate the effects of primary surgeries on dental arch dimensions. Objective: To determine the cephalometric parameters and esthetic preferences of a pleasant face for the Japanese population.
Methods: For the present study, the following databases were accessed: PubMed, Embase, Scopus and Web of Science. Initial inclusion criteria comprised studies written in English and quoting cephalometric norms and/or facial attractiveness in Japanese adults.
Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the use of orthodontic mini-implants for the intrusion of supraerupted maxillary molars.
Materials And Methods: Nine patients were treated using buttons bonded on dental surfaces and mini-implants inserted on the buccal and palatal sides. The intrusion was evaluated by comparing radiographs obtained at the start of treatment and at the end of intrusion.
The facial growth of Class III malocclusion worsens with age, in this case, the early orthopedic treatment, providing facial balance, modifying the maxillofacial growth and development. A 7.6-year old boy presented with Class III malocclusion associated with anterior crossbite; the mandible was shifted to the right and the maxilla had a transversal deficiency.

Methods: The cephalometric measurements used followed the analyses by Wylie-Johnson, Siriwat-Jarabak, Gebeck, Merrifield and Horn.
Results: Results showed dimorphism for total anterior facial height (TAFH), lower anterior facial height (LAFH), anterior facial height (AFH), total posterior facial height (TPFH) and upper posterior facial height (UPFH) measurements.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to systematically review the literature to check the influence of low-level laser (LLL) on orthodontic movement and pain control in humans, and what dose ranges are effective for pain control and increased speed of orthodontic movement.
Methods: Computerized and manual searches were conducted up to January 4, 2014 for clinical studies that addressed these objectives. The selection criteria required that these studies (1) be prospective controlled clinical trials (CCT) and randomized clinical trials (RCT); (2) only use LLL in both infrared and visible red wavelengths, a laser with emission of constant wave; (3) have all main parameters of dose described, or at least conditions for calculation of the energy, in Joules; and (4) be published in Portuguese, English, or Spanish and be meta-analyses.
Introduction: The objective of this study was to identify the patterns of dental variables of adolescent Japanese-Brazilian descendants with normal occlusion, and also to compare them with a similar Caucasian and Mongoloid sample.
Methods: Lateral cephalometric radiographs were used to compare the groups: Caucasian (n = 40), Japanese-Brazilian (n = 32) and Mongoloid (n = 33). The statistical tests used were one-way ANOVA and ANCOVA.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to cephalometrically compare the skeletal and dentoalveolar effects in the treatment of Class II malocclusion with Pendulum and Jones jig appliances, followed by fixed corrective orthodontics, and to compare such effects to a control group.
Methods: The sample was divided into three groups. Group 1: 18 patients treated with Pendulum, Group 2: 25 patients treated with Jones jig, and Group 3: 19 young subjects with untreated Class II malocclusions and initial mean age of 12.
