[Dual role for prostaglandin D2 in intestinal epithelial homeostasis].

Prostaglandin D2 (PGD2) and derivatives are lipid mediators involved in the control of the intestinal epithelial barrier homeostasis. Their involvement in the pathophysiology of chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is still debated. Several results highlight the duality of PGD2 as an anti- or pro-inflammatory mediator.
