Objective: This trial investigated the post operative analgesic efficacy of oarl etoricoxib 90 mg and 120 mg and a placebo in mandibular fracture pain model.
Methods: A total of 63 adult patients with mandibular fractures who were scheduled to undergo maxillofacial surgery were randomly allocated to receive etoricoxib 90 mg, etoricoxib 120 mg and a placebo 1 hour before the surgery. Patients were followed-up till 24 hours after the surgery.

In spite of advances in perioperative management, operative procedures in patients with chronic liver disease pose a significant challenge for the anesthesiologist due to multisystem involvement, high risk of postoperative hepatic decompensation, and mortality. We describe the anesthetic management of an elderly patient with advanced liver disease (model for end-stage liver disease 16) for prolonged abdominal surgery. The use of invasive hemodynamic monitoring, point-of-care biochemical, and hematological surveillance coupled with prompt correction of all abnormalities was responsible for good outcome.

A 15-year-old female patient presented with severe pain in the abdomen and obstructive uropathy. She underwent Yang-Monti ileovesicostomy under general anaesthesia. She is a known case of long-standing meningomyelocele (MMC) and presented with its potential complications such as difficult airway and restrictive lung disease.
