Previously, we observed curcumin improves aging-associated memory impairment in D-galactose (D-gal) and normal-aged (NA) mice. Evidence showed that multiple agents can be used in managing aging-induced memory dysfunction, drawn by the contribution of several pathways. Curcumin and Epigallocatechin 3 gallate (EGCG) combination substantially reduced the oxidative stress that commonly mediates aging.

Background: Abnormalities in hematology and comorbidities might have a role in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients. However, the exact relationships between hematological parameters and the severity of CKD are not well understood. Also, the underlying mechanisms remain under investigation.

Aging-induced memory impairment is closely associated with oxidative stress. D-Galactose (D-gal) evokes severe oxidative stress and mimics normal aging in animals. Curcumin, a natural flavonoid, has potent antioxidant and anti-aging properties.
