Bothrops species trigger an acute inflammatory response in victims, with activated leukocytes releasing several mediators that may contribute to local and systemic effects. The effects of BjcuL, a lectin isolated from B. jararacussu snake venom, on mast cells and vasopermeability were investigated in this study.
