Purpose: to verify if teachers with less vocal use due to reduced workload have fewer complaints of vocal disorders and better environmental and organizational working conditions.

Methods: 46 teachers of both genders, with a mean age of 39.5 years old, and 15 years of career length participated in this study.

Purpose: To present the Trans Ambulatory Vocal Protocol (AVP-trans) and the Vocal Redesignation Program (VRP-trans).

Methods: The protocol consists of the following steps: 1) user routing; 2) speech therapy evaluation, application of self-perception protocols, referral for otorhinolaryngological evaluation and definition of conduct: individualized therapy (sound source) or VRP-trans for vocal filter; 3) VRP-trans, containing 12 vocal parameters to be worked monthly individually and in a group with the users; 4) After the end of the VRP-trans, the user is referred for vocal re-evaluation and otorhinolaryngological re-evaluation, in which it will be observed if the objective of the vocal redesignation was reached.

Results: VRP-trans is a program that aims at developing a vocal filter work for the transgender population, flexible and that contemplates the complaints of this population, in which it presents difficulties to access the health service.

Objectives: This study aimed to describe and correlate the fundamental frequency behavior and the first four formants before and after exposure to usual and routinely prolonged voice use from teachers with over 4 years of experience in teaching.

Study Design: The study design is observational and transversal with quantitative and descriptive evaluations.

Methods: A total of 28 female teachers were subjected to the Screening Index for Voice Disorder (SIVD) and to recordings of the sustained vowel /a/ before and after exposure to prolonged voice use.

Objectives/hypothesis: To analyze tracheoesophageal voice resistance in laryngectomized patients by comparing the acoustic, perceptive-auditory and self-evaluation measures before and after the voice resistance test.

Study Design: An observational, experimental study with a quantitative and descriptive approach.

Methods: Nineteen total laryngectomees were submitted for capture of vocal intensity, self-assessment of signs and symptoms of voice fatigue using a visual analogue scale, and perceptive-auditory and acoustic analysis of the tracheoesophageal voice before and after the voice resistance test, which consisted of continuous repeated counting from one to 100.

Objectives: To evaluate the behavior of the phonatory function and the perceived strain in Brazilian young women, before and after a test of prolonged voice use test, for a period of one continuous hour.

Methods: Twenty young women without laryngeal disorders participated in the study and were submitted to vocal acoustic analysis (MDVP-Advanced, CSL-Kay Pentax®), perceptual voice assessment, carried out by five judges, and the measurement of speech-strain level using a visual analog scale before and after a prolonged use of the voice, from the reading of a standardized text for one hour in usual vocal intensity and frequency, without breaks for hydration or vocal rest. The description and comparison between the variables and the appropriate statistical analysis were carried out.
