The scientific literature has evidenced the stereotypes that affect the Roma people, which are detrimental to their access to the health systems in various countries. With the COVID-19 pandemic, this situation has been aggravated by falsely blaming, on many occasions, the Roma people as spreaders of the virus for supposedly not complying with the norms established by the health authorities. However, it has not been explored in depth what actions have been carried out by the Roma people during the pandemic to cope with this aspect.

Scientific evidence has shown that Social Work has frequently been considered a second-level discipline in the traditional sexist hierarchy, because pioneers and most social workers are women. The twofold objective of this article is to analyze the dynamics that overcome this consideration and to put forward actions to go further in the near future. The factors that limit these actions and those that make them possible are studied.

The scientific literature has already shown that health information is a factor that contributes to reduce health disparities, improving the situation of vulnerable groups, such as homeless people. However, less is known about the ways that health information has been spread by social workers and related professionals to homeless people in the first moments of the COVID-19 pandemic. When it comes to students with special needs, increasing evidence has demonstrated learning improvements through interaction and dialogue. The role of psychology in the improvement of people's lives is consistent, according to the scientific literature review. More and more studies within psychology, and other social sciences, are pointing out the importance of the quality of social interactions on physical and mental health and upon perceived wellbeing. When talking about homelessness, psychology has served these individuals mostly by informing intervention programs related to preventing and responding to substance abuse, healthcare, sexual risks, or mental illnesses, and these are key problems that psychology has also studied and found to be connected to homelessness.
