Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are involved in cancer progression, making them potential targets for cancer treatments.
The study investigated the cytotoxic effects of Cousinia shulabadensis extract on fibrosarcoma cells and its influence on MMP activity.
Results showed that while the extract was less toxic compared to a standard drug (diclofenac sodium), it significantly inhibited MMP activity and cell invasion, suggesting its therapeutic potential in cancer treatment.
