Background/objectives: Carrot is a major root vegetable in the owing to its abundant carotenoids, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. The modern dark orange western carrot was derived from sequential domestication events from the white-rooted wild form to the pale orange-, purple-, or yellow-rooted eastern carrot. Genetic and molecular studies between eastern and western carrots are meager despite their evolutionary relatedness.

Introduction: Designing the microfluidic channel for neonatal drug delivery requires proper considerations to enhance the efficiency and safety of drug substances when used in neonates. Thus, this research aims to evaluate high-performance materials and optimize the channel design by modeling and simulation using COMSOL multiphysics in order to deliver an optimum flow rate between 0. 3 and 1 mL/hr.

Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate color perception (CP) changes on Ishihara plates following red-tinted contact lenses in subjects with low vision (LV) from retinal diseases.

Methods: A cross-sectional observational study without control involved 84 subjects, aged 20-70 years, having LV from retinal diseases to examine CP changes following wearing red-tinted contact lenses. The subjects viewed Ishihara plates, with each eye separately, before and after wearing red lenses in two categories: "plates 1-21" and "plates 22-25".

Unlabelled: A previous study named 7178 and 892 bp contigs obtained through high-throughput sequencing (HTS) of black pepper as Piper DNA virus 1 (PDV-1) and PDV-2 respectively. In the present study, HTS results were confirmed through polymerase chain reaction and Sanger sequencing. The sequenced region of both PDV-1 and PDV-2 contained partial genomes with motifs characteristic of pararetroviruses.

The Rationale: Undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma originally known as malignant fibrous histiocytoma was declassified by the World Health Organization in 2002 as a formal diagnostic entity and renamed as an undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma. It accounts for <1% of malignant tumours of the long bone.

Patient Concerns: A 33-year-old male patient reported with swelling and pain in the lower left posterior jaw region for 3 months with a history of fall on the floor 3 months back.

Introduction: Postoperative pain following third molar removal is one of the most common and unpleasant complications encountered in routine surgical practice. Various methods have been advocated to minimize the postoperative pain: preemptive analgesia is one of those found to be effective.

Objective: The aim of this study was to compare the preemptive analgesic efficacy of Dextromethorphan (DM) and Ibuprofen in the third molar surgeries.

The effect of co-sensitization of CdS and InSb Quantum Dots (QDs) on the enhancement of efficiency of Quantum Dots Sensitized Solar Cells (QDSSCs) has been investigated. InSb is synthesized by a facile solvothermal method using indium metal particles and antimony trichloride as precursors. From TEM images the average particle size of InSb was found to be less than 25 nm.

Facial paralysis can be a devastating consequence resulting from blunt and penetrating trauma to the head and neck, as well as surgical injury, either accidental or due to involvement by tumor. In addition, the etiology can be attributed to a variety of other causes, ranging from infectious to metabolic, and is frequently idiopathic in nature. The incidence of facial nerve injury during temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgeries varies among surgeons.

The plasmodium vivax is the most prevalent malaria parasite. The world essentially needs a malaria vaccine to alleviate the human suffering associated with the parasitic disease that kills more than one million people annually. The use of plants for the expression of the proteins of disease-causing vehicle in transgenic plants has been increasingly used in the development of experimental vaccines, largely oriented to the improvement of edible vaccines.
