Background/objectives: Carrot is a major root vegetable in the owing to its abundant carotenoids, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. The modern dark orange western carrot was derived from sequential domestication events from the white-rooted wild form to the pale orange-, purple-, or yellow-rooted eastern carrot. Genetic and molecular studies between eastern and western carrots are meager despite their evolutionary relatedness.

Optimizing Microfluidic Channel Design with High-Performance Materials for Safe Neonatal Drug Delivery.

Introduction: Designing the microfluidic channel for neonatal drug delivery requires proper considerations to enhance the efficiency and safety of drug substances when used in neonates. Thus, this research aims to evaluate high-performance materials and optimize the channel design by modeling and simulation using COMSOL multiphysics in order to deliver an optimum flow rate between 0. 3 and 1 mL/hr.

Color perception on Ishihara plates with red lenses in subjects with low vision due to retinal diseases.

Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate color perception (CP) changes on Ishihara plates following red-tinted contact lenses in subjects with low vision (LV) from retinal diseases.

Methods: A cross-sectional observational study without control involved 84 subjects, aged 20-70 years, having LV from retinal diseases to examine CP changes following wearing red-tinted contact lenses. The subjects viewed Ishihara plates, with each eye separately, before and after wearing red lenses in two categories: "plates 1-21" and "plates 22-25".

Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) analysis of maxillary sinus septa in Indians.

It is of interest to assess the presence of maxillary sinus septae in patients undergoing implant treatment using Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT).This retrospective study evaluated CBCT scans of 99 patients who opted for implant placement. A total of 198 sinuses were analyzed.

Unlabelled: A previous study named 7178 and 892 bp contigs obtained through high-throughput sequencing (HTS) of black pepper as Piper DNA virus 1 (PDV-1) and PDV-2 respectively. In the present study, HTS results were confirmed through polymerase chain reaction and Sanger sequencing. The sequenced region of both PDV-1 and PDV-2 contained partial genomes with motifs characteristic of pararetroviruses.

Effect of co-sensitization of InSb quantum dots on enhancing the photoconversion efficiency of CdS based quantum dot sensitized solar cells.

The effect of co-sensitization of CdS and InSb Quantum Dots (QDs) on the enhancement of efficiency of Quantum Dots Sensitized Solar Cells (QDSSCs) has been investigated. InSb is synthesized by a facile solvothermal method using indium metal particles and antimony trichloride as precursors. From TEM images the average particle size of InSb was found to be less than 25 nm.
