Mammary analog secretory carcinoma (MASC) is a relatively rare, low-grade tumor affecting the salivary glands. We report a 62-year-old female who was diagnosed with MASC of the left parotid gland and underwent left Total conservative parotidectomy with condylectomy and reconstruction with right anterolateral free flap and left facial nerve (frontal branch) reconstruction with a cable graft. As there is no standard treatment protocol developed for the management of MASC, this report focuses on the various management options that have been followed to date.

Bacteriophages and bacteriophage-derived peptidoglycan hydrolases (endolysins) present promising alternatives for the treatment of infections caused by multidrug resistant Gram-negative and Gram-positive pathogens. In this study, Gp105, a putative lysozyme murein hydrolase from Enterobacter phage myPSH1140 was characterized as well as using the purified protein. Gp105 contains a T4-type lysozyme-like domain (IPR001165) and belongs to Glycoside hydrolase family 24 (IPR002196).

The influence of media composition on the life cycle of bacteriophages to exhibit diverse plaque morphology on various bacteriological media was investigated by a double agar overlay method. Both phage and phage showed altered plaque morphology from small to large and from clear to turbid, in different culture media used for the double agar overlay method.

Congenital cystic adenomatoid malformations (CCAM) are rare developmental anomalies of the lung characterized by cysts of varying sizes and/or adenomatoid proliferation. Type I CCAM, the most frequent subtype, is associated with an increased incidence of malignant transformation, principally bronchioloalveolar carcinoma, with a reported incidence of around 1%. We report the first case of mucoepidermoid carcinoma arising in a type 1 CCAM.
