[Urinary excretion of magnesium and calcium in patients with pulmonary squamous cell carcinoma treated by ionizing radiation].

Radiotherapy in patients with squamous cell lung cancer produced an increase of urinary magnesium and calcium secretion. This is probably due to the cytolysis of malignant cells and shifting of the acid--base balance toward acidity values. This interpretation is justified by the significant correlation between the regression of tumor and increased secretion of the intercellular cation--magnesium.

[Severe steroid-induced myopathy].

In the presented case after 3 years and 3 months treatment with DIPROPHOS (betamethasone) a transient tertraplagy developed. Also disturbances in respiratory muscle and peripheral nerve function were present.

Plasma catecholamines during exercise-induced bronchoconstriction in bronchial asthma.

Plasma levels of adrenaline and noradrenaline during and after submaximal exercise in patients with bronchial asthma were investigated. Three groups were studied comprising 10 patients with exercise-induced bronchoconstriction (EIB), 10 asthmatic patients without EIB and four normal control subjects. Plasma catecholamines were measured at rest, at the end of exercise, and five and 15 minutes after exercise.
