Radiation retinopathy vs. ocular ischemic syndrome: how to reach the diagnosis?

We present a case of diagnostic interest; we present the differential diagnosis and the complementary tests necessary to reach it, in addition to highlighting the importance of a correct collection of background and clinical history. A 54-year-old woman with a history of carcinoma of the floor of the mouth treated with radiotherapy and chemotherapy develops ischemic retinopathy. It was necessary to perform a systemic study and differential diagnosis with entities such as ocular ischemic syndrome and radiation retinopathy, due to the similarity in the clinical findings found.

Paraproteinaemic keratopathy simulating a crystalline keratopathy.

Background: Paraproteinemic keratopathy is a rare disorder characterized by the bilateral accumulation of polychromatic deposits diffusely in all corneal layers together or not with diffuse or patchy pseudo lipid deposits. We present an atypical case of paraproteinemic keratopathy which lead to an initial misdiagnosis of infectious crystalline keratopathy.

Skin manifestations in patients hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 disease: a cross-sectional study in a tertiary hospital.

Background: COVID-19 cutaneous manifestations have been recently described and classified in five different clinical patterns, including acral erythema-edema (pseudo-chilblain), maculopapular exanthemas, vesicular eruptions, urticarial lesions, and livedo or necrosis.

Objectives: The objective of this study was to examine the skin of hospitalized patients with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 disease and describe the real prevalence of skin manifestations.

Methods: A cross-sectional study, which included hospitalized patients in Cruces University Hospital from April 14-30, 2020, with a laboratory-confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 (with polymerase chain reaction and/or serology tests), was conducted.

[Transrectal echography in tuberculous prostatitis].

Tuberculous prostatitis is diagnosed incidentally, when the pathologist is studying a specimen of transurethral resection of the prostate or a prostatic biopsy. There is scant literature on the role of transrectal ultrasound in the diagnosis of this pathology. A case of tuberculous prostatitis is presented, with special reference to the transrectal ultrasound pattern.
