Burden of incidental cerebral aneurysms on lifestyle and quality of life: a survey of patients in expectant management (the SPICE Study).

Background: The increasing availability of neuroimaging tests has led to a rise in the identification of incidental unruptured intracranial aneurysms (UIAs). Their management is under debate, with no consensus on their follow-up strategy, which can cause anxiety in patients. Our aim is to evaluate the impact of diagnosis and imaging follow-up on daily activities and quality of life.

Ocular ischemic manifestations in fibromuscular dysplasia.

Purpose: To report visual, clinical and radiological outcomes of three patients with fibromuscular dysplasia (FMD) that presented different ocular ischemic events, supported by different multimodal imaging.

Methods: A retrospective study including patients who attended a tertiary referral hospital from July 2016 to June 2019 referring acute visual loss and later diagnosed of FMD. Ophthalmological examination included best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), biomicroscopy, fundoscopy, fluorescein angiography (FA), and macular and retinal nerve fiber layer spectral domain optic coherence tomography (SD-OCT).

Detecting Atrial Fibrillation in Patients With an Embolic Stroke of Undetermined Source (from the DAF-ESUS registry).

Atrial fibrillation (AF) causes a substantial proportion of embolic strokes of undeterminded source (ESUS). Effective detection of subclinical AF (SCAF) has important therapeutic implications. We conducted a prospective study to determine the prevalence of SCAF in patients with ESUS through of a 21-day Holter monitoring.

Capit timed tests quantify age-related motor decline in normal subjects.

Slowing of motor performance in human aging is a well demonstrated clinical observation. Age-related motor decline has been also confirmed in animal models including rodents and non human primates. We studied the motor performance of 60 normal subjects (age: 20-87).

Ancient descriptions of movement disorders: Cathedral el Burgo de Osma (Soria, Spain).

El Burgo de Osma (Soria, Spain) offers one of the best preserved medieval structures in Spain. The interior of the building conserves abundant samples of Romanesque art, and the tomb in polychromatic stone of the founder, San Pedro de Osma. We have classified those pieces of art that could represent descriptions of movement disorders.
