[Pedagogical Quality Cercle: a new tool for ambulatory clinical supervisors].

Supervisors in clinical practice need to engage in continuous education so as to acquire the appropriate pedagogical tools to continue improving their teaching abilities. A new monthly « Pedagogical Quality Cercle » (PQC) has recently been developed to provide a virtual and innovative exchange of practices focused on supervisors' difficulties during clinical placements. The article presents the conceptual framework of PQC and their teaching communities of practice and gives an example of a typical exchange between PQC facilitators and clinical teachers during a session.

Online Synchronous Clinical Communication Training During the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Purpose: As the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak occurred, most structured clinical communication training were transformed from in-person to remote seminars. The aim of our study was to evaluate the usefulness and feasibility of online synchronous clinical communication training from both students' and tutors' perspectives.

A medical student in private practice for a 1-month clerkship: a qualitative exploration of the challenges for primary care clinical teachers.

Purpose: The predicted shortage of primary care physicians emphasizes the need to increase the family medicine workforce. Therefore, Swiss universities develop clerkships in primary care physicians' private practices. The objective of this research was to explore the challenges, the stakes, and the difficulties of clinical teachers who supervised final year medical students in their primary care private practice during a 1-month pilot clerkship in Geneva.

[Teaching clinical reasoning is more like detective work than you might imagine].

When supervising a medical student or a doctor in training, it is useful to know the different stages of clinical reasoning in order to identify at what stage the learner encounters a difficulty in making the right decision. Is he having trouble characterizing the clinical problem ? Is he generating the right hypotheses that are adapted to the data collection ? Is it a problem of verification of assumptions ? Of interpreting the data ? Of presumptive diagnosis or a poor choice of an intervention plan ? By making a pedagogical diagnosis, the supervisor will be more effective in adapting his recommendations in a more targeted way to the specific difficulties of the student or young colleague.

[Teaching students guidelines: prescription in the practice setting].

The aim of this article is to help primary care teachers to instruct students' recommendations for drug prescription. Teaching drug prescription covers many aspects of primary care physicians' profession: establishing the correct diagnosis, choosing the appropriate treatment for any individual patient, negotiating with the patient concrete ways of taking the treatment, handling the necessary pharmacologic knowledge or existing tools that help treatment choice and communicating efficiently with the patient. The WHO 6-step method is presented.

[Prescribing physical activity to reluctant adolescents: why, how and for what benefits?].

Family doctors often face requests to exempt adolescents from physical education classes. Knowledge of the goals of physical education in compulsory and post-compulsory education can help the practitioner discuss this important subject and its physical and mental health implications. In Geneva, an innovative programme called "EPI" (individualised physical activity at the secondary school level) has been developed and doctors can refer adolescents who otherwise would not be able to participate in conventional gym classes.

Attitudes, barriers and facilitators for health promotion in the elderly in primary care. A qualitative focus group study.

Questions Under Study: Effective health promotion is of great importance from clinical as well as from public health perspectives and therefore should be encouraged. Especially regarding health promotion in the elderly, general practitioners (GPs) have a key role. Nevertheless, evidence suggests a lack of health promotion by GPs, especially in this age group.
