Background: Despite the availability and benefits of the Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine, parental acceptance remains low in the eastern mediterranean region (EMR). Therefore, this meta-analysis aimed to estimate the pooled proportion of parental uptake and willingness to vaccinate their children with the HPV vaccine and their determinants in the EMR.
Methods: We searched PubMed Central, PubMed Medline, Scopus, Web of Science, ProQuest, Google Scholar, and medRxiv according to PRISMA guidelines until the 5th of April 2024.
Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most prevalent, treatment-resistant, and fatal form of brain malignancy. It is characterized by genetic heterogeneity, and an infiltrative nature, and GBM treatment is highly challenging. Despite multimodal therapies, clinicians lack efficient prognostic and predictive markers.

One way to identify unreliable data and the sources of errors is to compare estimated intakes with the total energy expenditure (TEE). In this study, we used the International Atomic Energy Agency Doubly Labeled Water Database to derive a predictive equation for TEE using 6,497 measures of TEE in individuals aged 4 to 96 years.

However, OLZ use is associated with several adverse effects, including decreased locomotor activity and increased body weight. While the majority of studies have directed their focus towards managing the metabolic side effects of OLZ, there has been limited attention given to the effects on locomotor activity.

Metazoan holo-TFIID is a trilobular complex, composed of the TATA binding protein (TBP) and 13 TBP-associated factors (TAFs). Why and how TAFs are necessary for the formation of TFIID domains and how they contribute to transcription initiation remain unclear.

Various palliative methods have been proposed as therapeutic strategies for alleviating symptoms. Mesenchymal stromal cell transplantation has been suggested as an innovative and promising approach due to its potential for inducing regeneration and immunomodulation in the necrotic tissue.

Metazoan holo-TFIID is composed of the TATA binding protein (TBP) and of 13 TBP associated factors (TAFs). Inducible knock out (KO) results in the formation of a Taf7-less TFIID complex, while KO leads to serious defects within the TFIID assembly pathway.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThere is considerably greater variation in metabolic rates between men than between women, in terms of basal, activity and total (daily) energy expenditure (EE). One possible explanation is that EE is associated with male sexual characteristics (which are known to vary more than other traits) such as musculature and athletic capacity. Such traits might be predicted to be most prominent during periods of adolescence and young adulthood, when sexual behaviour develops and peaks.

MS is immune-mediated and leads to disability especially in young adults. Even though 18 MS therapy drugs were approved, they slightly inhibit disease progression and do not induce regeneration and repair in the nervous system.

Here we show that in both sexes, total energy expenditure (TEE) adjusted for body composition and age declined since the late 1980s, while adjusted activity energy expenditure increased over time.

Methods: An Egyptian expert panel (comprising nine Egyptian oncologists) meeting was held after a comprehensive literature review on the use of cisplatin in HNSCC. The panel aimed to develop a consensus on evidence-based recommendations for receiving cisplatin in the chemoradiotherapy management of HNSCC in Egyptian clinical practice.
Aims: We investigated whether Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) is related to Diabetic Foot Ulcer (DFU) development, adjusted for the stratification of the International Work Group on Diabetic Foot (IWGDF) guidance.
Materials And Methods: DR and IWGDF stratification was registered retrospectively in patients hospitalised from 2009 to 2017 for uncontrolled and/or complicated type 2 diabetes. New DFUs were registered until 2020.
Water is essential for survival, but one in three individuals worldwide (2.2 billion people) lacks access to safe drinking water. Water intake requirements largely reflect water turnover (WT), the water used by the body each day.

Energy expenditure represents the metabolic costs of multiple physical, physiological, and behavioral traits.

This fundus appearance can have multiple causes but the etiology of Leber's idiopathic stellate neuroretinitis remains unknown.
Case Report: A 40 year-old man consulted for a progressive decline in visual acuity and a blurred vision in his left eye.
Purpose: To examine associations between recreational and occupational physical activity and prostate cancer aggressiveness in a population-based, case-only, incident prostate cancer study.
Methods: Data were analyzed from the cross-sectional North Carolina-Louisiana Prostate Cancer Project of African-American (n = 1,023) and European-American (n = 1,079) men newly diagnosed with prostate cancer (CaP). High-aggressive CaP was defined as Gleason sum ≥ 8, or prostate-specific antigen > 20 ng/ml, or Gleason sum ≥ 7 and clinical stage T3-T4.
Introduction: Blepharophimosis-ptosis-epicanthus inversus syndrome (BPES) is a rare autosomal dominant genetic disorder characterized by complex orbito-palpebral anomalies. We report a rare case of BPES associated with bilateral congenital cataract.
Observation: This study reports the case of a 6-month-old infant with BPES in whom a bilateral congenital cataract was diagnosed, after the parents noticed leukocoria and signs of poor vision in their child.
Low total energy expenditure (TEE, MJ/d) has been a hypothesized risk factor for weight gain, but repeatability of TEE, a critical variable in longitudinal studies of energy balance, is understudied. We examine repeated doubly labeled water (DLW) measurements of TEE in 348 adults and 47 children from the IAEA DLW Database (mean ± SD time interval: 1.9 ± 2.

Stem cells have been raised as a new treatment modality for these patients. We have designed a single-center, prospective, open-label, and single arm clinical trial to assess the safety, feasibility, and rather efficacy of administrating allogeneic adipose-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (Ad-MSCs) in ALS patients.

Objectives: A study is presented of the association between FFM and physical activity in relation to age.
Methods: In a cross-sectional study, FFM was analyzed in relation to physical activity in a large participant group as compiled in the International Atomic Energy Agency Doubly Labeled Water database.
Understanding the impacts of activity on energy balance is crucial. Increasing levels of activity may bring diminishing returns in energy expenditure because of compensatory responses in non-activity energy expenditures. This suggestion has profound implications for both the evolution of metabolism and human health.
