Animal cultures can undergo rapid changes associated with innovations, revolutions or population decline. Where a rapid shift results in reduced complexity of cultural behaviours, it may have fitness consequences for individuals. Here, we report a dramatic shift in the dominant song type of critically endangered wild regent honeyeaters .

However, the profiles and consequences of hepatic injury resulting from PAH and CTEPH have not been well studied. We aimed to identify underlying patterns of liver injury in a cohort of patients with PAH and CTEPH enrolled in 15 randomized clinical trials conducted between 1998 and 2014.

However, there are few large patient-level studies that compare the effectiveness of these pathways. The aim of this analysis was to compare the effectiveness of the treatment pathways in PAH and to assess treatment heterogeneity.

Electrocardiography (ECG) is a noninvasive, inexpensive test that is routinely performed in clinical settings. Prior studies have described separate abnormal findings in the electrocardiograms of patients with PAH.

Systemic consequences of right ventricular dysfunction include damage to other solid organs, such as the liver. However, the profiles and consequences of hepatic injury due to PAH and CTEPH have not been well-studied.

When it does occur, tool manufacture in parrots tends to be innovative, spontaneous and individually variable, but most cases have been in captivity. In the wild, only palm cockatoos () have been observed using tools regularly.

We aimed to explore if disease severity, as defined by established risk-prediction algorithms, modified response to therapy in randomised clinical trials in PAH.
Methods: We performed a meta-analysis using individual participant data from 18 randomised clinical trials of therapy for PAH submitted to the United States Food and Drug Administration to determine if predicted risk of 1-year mortality at randomisation modified the treatment effect on three outcomes: change in 6-min walk distance (6MWD), clinical worsening at 12 weeks and time to clinical worsening.
The 6-minute-walk distance (6MWD) is an important clinical and research metric in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH); however, there is no consensus about what minimal change in 6MWD is clinically significant. We aimed to determine the minimal clinically important difference in the 6MWD. We performed a meta-analysis using individual participant data from eight randomized clinical trials of therapy for PAH submitted to the U.

We examined whether sex was associated with baseline 6-minute-walk distance (6MWD), hemodynamics, and functional class. We conducted a secondary analysis of participant-level data from randomized clinical trials of investigational PAH therapies conducted between 1998 and 2014 and provided by the U.

It is unknown if the improved outcomes could be attributable to obese patients deriving a greater benefit from PAH therapies.
Research Question: Does BMI modify treatment effectiveness in PAH?
Study Design And Methods: Using individual participant data, a meta-analysis was conducted of phase III, randomized, placebo-controlled trials of treatments for PAH submitted for approval to the U.
The population of patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) has evolved over time from predominantly young White women to an older, more racially diverse and obese population. Whether these changes are reflected in clinical trials is not known. To determine secular and regional trends among PAH trial participants.

The process of mapping terms and phrases to an ontology is complicated by typographic errors, abbreviations, truncation, and plurality. We sought to harmonize medical history (MH) and adverse events (AE) term records across 21 randomized clinical trials in pulmonary arterial hypertension and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension.

Methods: We performed chart review on 385 women and 193 men with UCPPS who enrolled in the MAPP-II SPS. 223 had cystoscopy and documentation of HL status.

Introduction: Increased prevalence of nicotine dependence among individuals suffering from posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is well established. However, there are limited studies on the prevalence of smoking during pregnancy in relation to prepregnancy history of trauma exposures and active PTSD symptoms during pregnancy. Prenatal smoking has been implicated in a host of negative outcomes for mother and baby.

Materials And Methods: Thirty-six women with elevated depression symptoms (PHQ-9 ≥ 5) in pregnancy used the application for 8 weeks. Mood was reported using application-administered surveys daily (2 questions) and weekly (PHQ-9 and GAD-7).
Fetal adrenal gland volumes on 3-dimensional sonography have been studied as potential predictors of preterm birth. However, no consistent methodology has been published. This article describes the methodology used in a study that is evaluating the effects of maternal early life stress on fetal adrenal growth to allow other researchers to compare methodologies across studies.

Lisdexamfetamine (LDX) has been suggested to be a safe and effective treatment option for these women. However, the mechanism by which LDX improves executive functioning in these women is not known.

We undertook this study to examine whether a financial incentive that lowered co-payments for blood pressure medications below $0 improved blood pressure control among patients with poorly controlled hypertension.
Study Design: Randomized controlled trial.
Objectives: Efforts to improve adherence by reducing co-payments through value-based insurance design are become more prevalent despite limited evidence of improved health outcomes. The objective of this study was to determine whether eliminating patient co-payments for blood pressure medications improves blood pressure control.
Study Design: Randomized controlled trial.
Rationale: Reports of cognitive decline, particularly in the domains of executive functions (EFs), are common among menopausal women.
Objective: This study aims to determine the impact of the psychostimulant lisdexamfetamine (LDX) on subjective and objective cognitive function among menopausal women who report new-onset EF complaints.
Methods: Thirty-two healthy perimenopausal and early postmenopausal women experiencing mid-life-onset executive function difficulties as measured using the Brown Attention Deficit Disorder Scale (BADDS) were administered LDX 40-60 mg/day for 4 weeks in this double-blind, placebo-controlled, cross-over study.
Seven to thirteen percent of women are either prescribed or taking (depending on the study) an antidepressant during pregnancy. Because antidepressants freely cross into the intrauterine environment, we aim to summarize the current findings on placental transfer of antidepressants. Although generally low risk, antidepressants have been associated with postnatal adaptation syndrome (PNAS).

Compelling experimental evidence of effective negative capacitance is presented here at room temperature in engineered devices, where it is stabilized by the presence of a paraelectric material. In future integrated circuits, the incorporation of such negative capacitance into MOSFET gate stacks would reduce the subthreshold slope, enabling low power operation and reduced self-heating.
