Introduction: Nicotine, the main ingredient in tobacco, acts as a key alkaloid of nearly all tobacco products and has been demonstrated to facilitate tumorigenesis and accelerate metastasis. Further traditional tobacco products have shown to give systemic oral effects such as vasoconstriction, inflammation, and delayed wound healing, however; none of the reports have confirmed the significant knowledge of oral sequel of the effect of nicotine on oral epithelial cells. So, the current study aimed to investigate the effect of nicotine on epithelial transformation to a malignant state.

Methods And Results: A retrospective study enrolled a total of 346 patients with advanced-stage lung cancer tested for EGFR mutation. EGFR mutation was analyzed by amplification refractory mutation system-polymerase chain reaction (ARMS-PCR).
Oral cancer is a heterogeneous, aggressive, and complex entity. Current major treatment options for the disease are surgery, chemo, and/or radiotherapy either alone or in combination with each other. Each treatment method has its own limitations such as a significant journey with deformities and a protracted rehabilitation process leading to loss of self-esteem, loss of tolerance, and therapeutic side effects.
