Objective: Our purpose was to examine the association between beta-blocker dose and mortality following acute myocardial infarction.
Methods: This nationwide cohort study enrolled all patients admitted for first-time acute myocardial infarction in Denmark between July 1, 2004 and December 31, 2014, using the Danish National Patient Registry. Patients alive 15 days after admission were followed until death, emigration, or December 31, 2014.
Introduction: Plexiform neurofibromas (PN) are benign nerve sheath tumours that are a frequent and potentially debilitating complication in patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). The objective of this study was to describe the natural history of PN in children, adolescents and adults with NF1.
Methods: This was a nationwide, longitudinal cohort study of patients with NF1 under observation at the two national centres of NF1 expertise in Denmark between 2000 and 2020.
Background: Incidence rates in Denmark of central nervous system (CNS) tumors remain among the highest in the world. Survival rates, however, have improved in the past decades in high-income countries.
Methods: We analyzed incidence and survival of childhood CNS tumors in Denmark diagnosed from 1997 to 2019 based on data from the Danish Childhood Cancer Registry and information on histological types, tumor localization, and treatment from medical records.
Objective: To find and validate the optimal combination of criteria that define interictal epileptiform EEG discharges (IEDs). Our target was a specificity over 95%, to avoid over-reading in clinical EEG.
Methods: We constructed 63 combinations of the six criteria from the operational definition of IEDs, recently issued in the EEG-glossary of the International Federation of Clinical Neurophysiology (IFCN).
The purpose of this study was to implement an education-based antibiotic stewardship programme at two regional hospitals in Denmark, and thereby reduce consumption of antibiotics in general and cephalosporins and fluoroquinolones in particular. We aimed to improve physicians' knowledge, prescribing practices and perceptions and attitudes towards antibiotics, and to achieve changes in behaviour. The antibiotic stewardship programme comprised education, guidelines, audits and feedback and ward rounds by a clinical microbiologist.

Objective: Parent training is recommended for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in preschool children. Evidence-based interventions are important, but only if they produce better outcomes than usual care.
Method: The authors conducted a multicenter, 2-arm, parallel-group, randomized controlled trial in routine specialist ADHD clinics in the Danish Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.
A simple and rapid reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatographic (RP-HPLC) method was developed and validated for the simultaneous separation and estimation of gefitinib (an anti-cancer drug) and its process-related impurities. Five process-related impurities of gefitinib were separated on an Inertsil ODS-3V column (250 × 4.6 mm i.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA simple and rapid reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) method for the simultaneous separation and determination of erlotinib and its process-related impurities in bulk drugs has been developed. Five process-related impurities of erlotinib have been separated on an Inerstsil ODS-3V (C18) column and detected at 254 nm using a photo diode array (PDA). This HPLC method was successfully applied to the analysis of erlotinib bulk drug.
