Objectives: EGFR exon 20 insertion (EGFRex20ins) mutations are found in up to 4% of all patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). These patients are often insensitive to EGFR-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) and have worse prognosis than patients with more common EGFR mutations. In this multicenter, retrospective, real-world study, we sought to determine whether the administration of recently approved treatments that specifically target EGFRex20ins mutations could significantly improve outcomes in this patient population.

Yet some clinical settings, such as the treatment sequence in patients with brain metastases, have barely been evidenced. Although ICIs cannot directly cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB), evidence suggests that BBB damage could allow ICIs into the central nervous system, or that they can have an indirect effect on the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) and cause an anti-tumor response.

Purpose: Concurrent chemoradiotherapy (cCRT) is the standard treatment for locally advanced and unresectable non-small-cell lung cancer. Population is aging, and Geriatric assessment (GA) has demonstrated its paper to select fit patients for active treatment and vulnerable, frail patients for interventions and/or palliative care in many histologies. Its role in locally advanced, unresectable non-small-cell lung cancer has been less explored.

Methods: Between 2008 and 2021, 182 patients with BRAF-mutant advanced NSCLC (BRAF V600E, n = 70; BRAF non-V600E, n = 112) were retrospectively identified from 18 centers in Spain. Patients received chemotherapy (n = 147), immunotherapy (n = 69), targeted therapy (n = 42), and immunotherapy + chemotherapy (n = 26).
Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is one of the world's leading causes of morbidity and mortality. ICIs alone or combined with chemotherapy have become the standard first-line treatment of metastatic NSCLC. The impressive results obtained have stimulated our interest in applying these therapies in early disease stage treatments, as neoadjuvant immunotherapy has shown promising results.

The method is based on a modification of magnetic headspace adsorptive microextraction (M-HS-AME) followed by gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (GC-MS). For this purpose, an external magnetic field generated by a neodymium magnet is used to hold the magnetic sorbent (i.

This article focuses on the anatomy and functionality of the hip, with emphasis on recently studied concepts and anatomic features that have an association with the development of symptoms. The most common anatomic variants posing a challenge for diagnosis and other common findings in asymptomatic patients are reviewed.

Of them, osteoporosis is the most frequent and the most commonly found in the spine, with a high impact on health care systems and on morbidity due to vertebral fractures (VFs).This article discusses state-of-the-art techniques on the imaging of metabolic bone diseases in the spine, from the well-established methods to the latest improvements, recent developments, and future perspectives.

Bone marrow adipocytes serve as storage tissue, but they also have endocrine and paracrine functions, contributing to local and systemic metabolism.Among different techniques, magnetic resonance (MR) has the benefit of imaging bone marrow directly.

The different lines of treatment have effects on diseased and normal marrow, and they may lead to complications that must be differentiated from recurrence or progression. This review analyzes the changes induced by radiotherapy and chemotherapy in the MSK system in the adult and pediatric population, and the expected associated imaging findings.

This study aims to explore minimally invasive approaches to characterize circulating T cell receptor beta chain (TCR-β) repertoire in a cohort of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients treated with first-line pembrolizumab. Peripheral blood samples were obtained at two time points: i) pretreatment (PRE) and ii) first response assessment (FR).

Patients And Methods: This was an observational multicenter study that enrolled patients with lung cancer and thoracic tumors, recruited from August 2016 to January 2020 at 50 Spanish hospitals.
Background: The human gut harbors around 10-10 microorganisms, collectively referred to as gut microbiota. Recent studies have found that the gut microbiota may have an impact on the interaction between immune regulation and anti-cancer immunotherapies.
Methods: In order to characterize the diversity and composition of commensal microbiota and its relationship with response to immune checkpoint blockade (ICB), 16S ribosomal DNA (rDNA) sequencing was performed on 69 stool samples from advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients prior to treatment with ICB.
Background: AURA study reported 61% objective response rate and progression-free survival of 9.6 months with osimertinib in patients with EGFR/T790M+ non-small cell lung cancer. Due to lack of real-world data, we proposed this study to describe the experience with osimertinib in Spain.

The benefits seen in adolescence continue into adulthood. Exercise delays and attenuates the effects of osteoporosis, and particular sports activities may be recommended to improve bone mineral density (BMD) of the spine or regional BMD, improve balance, and prevent falls.

The assessment has until recently been almost limited to its role as principal component of the scaffolding of the human body. Bone is a very active tissue, in continuous cross-talk with other organs and systems, with functions that are endocrine and paracrine and that have an important involvement in metabolism, ageing and health in general.

This review aims to describe and illustrate the imaging findings related to the presence of accessory ossicles and muscles in the midfoot and forefoot through different techniques, with special attention on those variants that associate factors of clinical relevance or that would trigger challenges in the differential diagnosis.

Methods: This was an observational, prospective, national and multicentre study with two visits in which the following were collected: (1) baseline visit: sociodemographic and clinical variables (2) visit after completing the 4-6 chemotherapy cycles: criteria for ending treatment, control of the disease and clinical variables. Ad hoc questionnaires were collected to assess the frequency of symptoms (evaluated by the patient), and quality-of-life questionnaires to assess the intensity of symptoms (using the Lung Cancer Symptom Scale, LCSS), and interference in the patient's daily life, assessed by the patient and by the investigator.
