The electric monopole (E0) transition strength ρ^{2} for the transition connecting the third 0^{+} level, a "superdeformed" band head, to the "spherical" 0^{+} ground state in doubly magic ^{40}Ca is determined via e^{+}e^{-} pair-conversion spectroscopy. The measured value ρ^{2}(E0;0_{3}^{+}→0_{1}^{+})=2.3(5)×10^{-3} is the smallest ρ^{2}(E0;0^{+}→0^{+}) found in A<50 nuclei.

The manner of decay of genetically defective EYS gene transcripts varies depending on the type of mutation using our cellular model, which consists of induced photoreceptor-directed fibroblasts from EYS-RP patients (EYS-RP cells). However, disease-specific profiles have not been clarified in EYS-RP cells.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the reliability and validity of the Postoperative Oral Dysfunction Scale (POD-10) that we developed. Between September 2019 and August 2021, 62 eligible oral cancer patients (median age, 72 years; 42 men and 20 women) were enrolled in the study.

This study aimed to comprehensively evaluate the oral function after treatment and classify the conditions related to oral dysfunction in patients with oral cancer.
Materials And Methods: We recruited participants, collected their background data, and evaluated their oral function from September 2019 to March 2021.
Background: Lipoinjection is a promising treatment but has some problems, such as unpredictability and a low rate of graft survival due to partial necrosis.
Methods: To overcome the problems with lipoinjection, the authors developed a novel strategy known as cellassisted lipotransfer (CAL). In CAL, autologous adiposederived stem (stromal) cells (ASCs) are used in combination with lipoinjection.
Purpose Of Review: Local allergic rhinitis (LAR) represents a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge for clinicians. Even though it affects a considerable number of chronic rhinitis patients and a significant number of articles regarding prevalence, evolution, diagnosis, and treatment have been published, the condition remains still largely unrecognized and therefore misdiagnosed and mistreated.
Recent Findings: LAR is a unique form of chronic rhinitis; it is neither classical allergic rhinitis (AR) nor non-allergic rhinitis (NAR).
Objective: Sublingual immunotherapy has been considered to be a painless and effective therapeutic treatment of patients with allergic rhinitis. Its mechanism of action has been elucidated, but there are still controversies among many reports between clinical efficacy and laboratory data. Therefore, its mechanism of action needs to be investigated further by using promising animal models such as rodents and monkeys.

Low-lying excited states of ^{40}Mg have been studied for the first time following a one-proton removal reaction from ^{41}Al, performed at the Radioactive Isotope Beam Factory of RIKEN Nishina Center with the DALI2 γ-ray array and the ZeroDegree spectrometer. Two γ-ray transitions were observed, suggesting an excitation spectrum that shows unexpected properties as compared to both the systematics along the Z=12, N≥20 Mg isotopes and available state-of-the-art theoretical model predictions.

In childhood, this clinical entity is very common and carries a significant socioeconomic burden. The impact on the physical, social, and psychological well-being of family cannot be underestimated.

A strong population of the J,T=1,0 state and a very weak population of the J,T=0,1 state were observed in the neutron pickup domain of ^{16}O(p,pd) at 392 MeV. This strong isospin dependence at large momentum transfer is not reproduced by the distorted-wave impulse approximation calculations with known spectroscopic amplitudes.

OK-432 has been reported to consist of many bacterial components, such as peptidoglycan, M-protein, etc. However, it is yet to be ascertained which bacterial component induces T helper 1 (Th1) responses.

Retinitis pigmentosa is an inherited retinal dystrophy that leads to visual impairment. The EYS gene was reported to be the most common gene responsible for autosomal recessive retinitis pigmentosa (arRP).

However, persistent long-term effects are often clinically observed when hyaluronic acid filler is injected as a bolus for facial augmentation. Therefore, the authors investigated, over time, the changes in volume and histologic features of subcutaneous bolus injections of hyaluronic acid.

This probe, now available through the production of ^{12}N as a secondary rare-isotope beam, is exothermic, is strongly absorbed at the surface of the target nucleus, and provides selectivity for spin-transfer excitations. All three properties enhance the excitation of the IVSMR compared to other, primarily light-ion, probes, which have been used to study the IVSMR thus far.

Its most remarkable fingerprint is the existence of the so-called magic numbers of protons and neutrons associated with extra stability. Although the introduction of a phenomenological spin-orbit (SO) coupling force in 1949 helped in explaining the magic numbers, its origins are still open questions.

By comparison with compound nucleus γ decay experiments, this allows a test of the generalized Brink-Axel hypothesis in the energy region of the pygmy dipole resonance. The Brink-Axel hypothesis is commonly assumed in astrophysical reaction network calculations and states that the gamma strength function in nuclei is independent of the structure of the initial and final state.
