Background: The popularity of e-cigarettes is on the rise among current cigarette users. Therefore, there are concerns about their health implications. This study examined the impact of health-related social media use on e-cigarette use among current cigarette users.

Online patient-provider communication (OPPC) offers a supplementary health resource that can complement traditional medical encounters and facilitate mammography screening. This study examines how offline healthcare barriers influence mammography screening, taking into account OPPC as an independent variable and cancer fatalism and patient activation as two mediators.

Cross-sectional data were analyzed from four iterations of the Health Information National Trends Survey (2011, 2014, 2017, and 2020). The results found that lowered cancer worry following PCC does not show a cross-sectional positive effect in promoting cancer screening behaviors, while enhanced health self-efficacy as a subsequent state is a facilitator of screening behaviors.

However, the psychological mechanism underlying this relationship remains underexplored. This study aims to address the mediating effect of youths internalizing problems and elucidate the moderating effect of academic performance from a longitudinal perspective.

However, it remains unclear whether the developmental status of stressed ramets affects the role of clonal integration. Here, we explored the effects of clonal integration at both the ramet level and the whole clonal fragment level when the apical ramets (younger) and basal ramets (older) were subjected to different concentrations of cadmium contamination.

However, it is unclear whether the effect of clonal integration differs between the invasive clonal plant and the related native species in response to patch contrast. To explore this, we grew the clonal fragment pairs of plant invader and its co-genus native species under high contrast, low contrast, and no contrast (control) nutrient patch environments, respectively, and with stolon connections either severed or kept intact.

Active fault detection has an important significance for seismic disaster prevention and mitigation in urban areas. The high-density station arrays have the potential to provide a microtremor survey solution for shallow seismic investigations. However, the resolution limitation of the nodal seismometer and small-scale lateral velocity being inhomogeneous hinder their application in near-surface active fault exploration.

Various high-performance CPs have been realized, which enable the applications of several organic electronic devices. Nevertheless, most CPs exhibit hole-dominant (p-type) transport behaviour, whereas the development of n-type analogues lags far behind and only a few exhibit metallic state, typically limited by low doping efficiency and ambient instability.

Background: Interrater reliability, aka intercoder reliability, is defined as true agreement between raters, aka coders, without chance agreement. It is used across many disciplines including medical and health research to measure the quality of ratings, coding, diagnoses, or other observations and judgements. While numerous indices of interrater reliability are available, experts disagree on which ones are legitimate or more appropriate.

The obtained artificial light-harvesting system can achieve an efficient two-step energy transfer process from PPTA-BSC4 to EY and then to SR101 with high energy-transfer efficiencies of up to 36.6% and 40.

Background: Mitochondrial transcription elongation factor (TEFM) is an essential molecule that regulates the replication-transcription switch of mitochondrial DNA. TEFM modulates both transcription elongation and RNA processing in mitochondria. The purpose of the present study was to determine the association of TEFM with tumor progression and prognosis in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients.

Previous studies have shown that epithelial‑mesenchymal transition (EMT) is involved in the metastasis of breast cancer, but the metabolic reprogramming and regulation mechanisms involved in the EMT process are still unclear. In the present study, we successfully constructed an EMT cell model induced by transforming growth factor β1 (TGF‑β1) treatment of MCF‑7 cells at different times.
