Introduction: Malnutrition contributes to approximately 45% of deaths among under 5 years children in low and middle-income countries. Poor maternal knowledge and failure to comply with recommended Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices are known risk factors for malnutrition but there are inconsistencies in the literature. Therefore, this cross-sectional study of 100 mother-child pairs in district Gujranwala aimed to assess maternal nutritional literacy (MNL) and maternal feeding practices (MFP) and their ultimate impacts on child growth.

Orthopaedic Telemedicine Clinics: A Patient Satisfaction Survey of 522 Patients.

Background The COVID-19 pandemic necessitated the rapid adoption of telemedicine across medical specialties, including orthopedics. This study aimed to assess patient satisfaction with orthopedic telemedicine consultations and analyze the efficiency and limitations of this approach during the pandemic. Methods A cross-sectional survey was conducted involving 522 patients who underwent telephone consultations for orthopedic care between May 2020 and January 2021.

This literature review investigated the relationship between nutritional and anthropometric status indicators, body composition, and prevalence of anemia in teenage girls.

Effectiveness of STEM based workshop for deaf education: Exploratory study.

STEM education for deaf students aims to engage and include intellectual and experiential learning other than normal classrooms. These programs improve students' critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and complex decision-making, which are essential for academic and life success. This study aims to explore several aspects of a STEM based workshop including problem solving skills, STEM skills, subject knowledge, and effectiveness of the workshop for a group of 27 deaf students.

Rupture Endometriomas Presenting as Acute Abdomen Infection in Hasty and Limited Resources Setting: A Pitfall Not to Miss - A Case Report.

Introduction: Abdominal pain is a diagnostic problem that requires immediate care and treatment for surgeons and gynecologists. The causes of abdominal pain in women of childbearing age range from benign and temporary to potentially life threatening. Rare etiologies such as spontaneous ruptured endometrioma are often not included in the radar of diagnosis due to their rarity and non-specific signs and symptoms in the patient.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the levels of chitinase-3-like protein-1 (CHI3L1), matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9), and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) in adenomyosis, as compared to normal myometrial tissue. Treatment of marble industry wastewater by Brassica napus (L.) under oxalic acid amendment: efficacy as fodder and carcinogenic risk assessment.

In the present study, Brassica napus, a food plant, was grown for phytoextraction of selected heavy metals (HMs) from marble industry wastewater (WW) under oxalic acid (OA) amendment. The hydroponic experiment was performed under different combination of WW with OA in complete randomized design. Photosynthetic pigments and growth reduction were observed in plants treated with WW alone amendments.

Complementary and alternative medicine is commonly used in pregnant woman in southeast Asian countries such as Indonesia, however information regarding its toxicity due to irrational use is few.

A conceptual analysis of SBIRT implementation alongside the continuum of PrEP awareness: domains of fit and feasibility.

Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) is a supplementary intervention that can be incorporated into the Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) Care Continuum, complementing initiatives and endeavors focused on Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) prevention in clinical care and community-based work. Referencing the Transtheoretical Model of Change and the PrEP Awareness Continuum, this conceptual analysis highlights how SBIRT amplifies ongoing HIV prevention initiatives and presents a distinct chance to address identified gaps. SBIRT's mechanisms show promise of fit and feasibility through (a) implementing universal Screening (S), (b) administering a Brief Intervention (BI) grounded in motivational interviewing aimed at assisting individuals in recognizing the significance of PrEP in their lives, (c) providing an affirming and supportive Referral to Treatment (RT) to access clinical PrEP care, and (d) employing client-centered and destigmatized approaches.

Dyslexia with and without Irlen syndrome: A study of influence on abilities and brain-derived neurotrophic factor level.

The presence of comorbid Irlen syndrome (IS) in children with developmental dyslexia (DD) may have an impact on their reading and cognitive abilities. Furthermore, the brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) was reported to be expressed in brain areas involved in cognitive and visual processing. The aim of this study was to evaluate some cognitive abilities of a group of dyslexic children with IS and to measure and compare the plasma BDNF level to dyslexic children without IS and neurotypical (NT) children.
