Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Scientific publications documented the use of plants from Genus Malva to treat inflammatory diseases and skin disorders by our ancestors. Malva parviflora L. has reported benefits for wound healing in traditional medicine; however, there is a lack of experimental study to validate these claims.

Assessment of the diagnostic value of NT-proBNP in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction.

Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is a common concern in the medical field due to its prevalence in an ageing western population. HFpEF is associated with significant morbidity and mortality not dissimilar to heart failure (HF) with reduced ejection fraction. N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) levels and echocardiography are the guideline diagnostic indicators of HF and their use is being examined in this study, with the aim to consider NT-proBNP thresholds performance as a rule-out test.

A Case of Metastatic Vulvar Choriocarcinoma Misdiagnosed as Vulvar Abscess: A Case Report.

Metastatic vulvar choriocarcinoma, a rare ectopic gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN), often presents a diagnostic challenge due to its mimicry of other conditions, particularly in resource-limited settings. Its primary symptom is abnormal vaginal bleeding without a clear cause. Consequently, diagnosing and managing it poses difficulties for many low-resource health facilities, as evidenced by the current case.

Objective: To assess and compare postlaser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) dry eye after LASIK with planned thin flaps created by a femtosecond laser (FS) and mechanical microkeratome (MK).

Methods: Patients were stratified according to the flap creation technique into FS and MK groups with planned 100 μm flap thickness in all eyes. Dry eye parameters including tear film break-up time (TBUT), Schirmer I test, ocular surface disease index (OSDI), and lower tear meniscus height and area (tear meniscus height [TMH] and tear meniscus area [TMA]) were assessed before surgery and at 3 and 6 months after surgery.

The present study was aimed at reviewing the studies that used finite element analysis (FEA) to estimate the biomechanical stress arising in removable partial dentures (RPDs) and how to optimize it. A literature survey was conducted for the English full-text articles, which used only FEA to estimate the stress developed in RPDs from Jan 2000 to May 2021. Pediatric Stainless-Steel Crown Cementation Finite Element Study.

Objective:  To study the effect of using different cement types under pediatric stainless-steel crown (SSC) around mandibular second primary molar using three-dimensional (3D) finite element analysis.

Materials And Methods:  A 3D finite element model was built for pediatric mandibular molar by laser scanning of natural extracted tooth. Four types of cement (zinc phosphate, glass ionomer, resin-modified glass ionomer, and resin) of 200 μm layers thickness were tested under a stainless-steel crown of 130-μm thickness.
