Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy Practice in United Kingdom: A Single-center Experience.

Objectives: This study sought to analyze the outpatient parenteral antimicrobial therapy (OPAT) services provided by a tertiary hospital, in terms of types and duration of antimicrobials administered, and assess whether these services were in line with current good practice recommendations.

Methods: The electronic healthcare records of all stable patients with infectious diseases, aged ≥ 18 years, who received OPAT services between January 2019 and March 2021, were analyzed. For statistical analysis, the patients were divided into younger (< 65 years) and older (≥ 65 years) adults and the difference between them, in terms of healthcare resources utilization, was assessed.

Periprosthetic Femoral Fractures and Their Surgical Outcomes Between 2011 and 2021: A Single-Centre Observational Study.

Introduction Periprosthetic femoral fractures (PFFs) present a significant burden on the health service. The incidence continues to rise globally as a result of an ageing population and an increase in the number of primary hip and knee arthroplasties being performed. This is a 10-year, retrospective, observational study that aims to better understand the outcomes of PFF in our district general hospital.

Scenario of Head Injury Patients in Tertiary Care Hospital of Nepal.

Background: The aim of the study is to find out the age and sex distribution, modes of head injury and correlate Glasgow Coma Scale with Computed Tomography in patients with head trauma in our center.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was performed among 113 patients of acute head trauma presenting to Emergency department of our hospital for three months. The severity of the head injury was assessed on admission by the Glasgow Coma Scale score and categorized as mild, moderate, or severe head injury.
