Fibroblastic reticular cell tumours (FRCT) originate from the fibroblastic reticular cells (FBRC) which are histiocytic cells, belonging to the dendritic cell family. These tumours are extremely rare, with only a few cases reported in literature. Histomorphologically, they resemble follicular dendritic cell sarcoma (FDCS); however, they differ immunophenotypically.

The present investigation focuses on understanding the role of photobiomodulation in enhancing tissue proliferation. Circular excision wounds of diameter 1.5 cm were created on Swiss albino mice and treated immediately with 2 J/cm and 10 J/cm single exposures of the Helium-Neon laser along with sham-irradiated controls.

Article Synopsis
  • Cutaneous wound healing involves complex biological processes, with dermal fibroblasts and keratinocytes playing crucial roles in reepithelialization, but pathogenic bacteria like Pseudomonas aeruginosa can hinder this process.
  • Research on three virulent strains of P. aeruginosa showed that proteins pseudolysin and protease IV negatively affect fibroblasts, keratinocytes, and endothelial cells, impairing their migration, survival, and the ability to form new blood vessels.
  • Pseudolysin and protease IV also induced prolonged inflammation and delayed wound healing in mouse models, suggesting they could be targeted for improved wound management in clinical settings.

The present work reports the photo-biomodulatory effect of red (632.8 nm) and near infrared (785 and 830 nm) lasers on burn injury in Swiss albino mice. Animals were induced with a 15-mm full thickness burn injury and irradiated with various fluences (1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 J/cm) of each laser wavelength under study having a constant fluence rate (8.

Toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) is a rare and life-threatening allergic drug reaction. We report a 26-year-old young female with end-stage renal disease on maintenance hemodialysis developing TEN while on filgrastim and phenytoin. It was successfully treated with intravenous immunoglobulins and steroids.

Pancreatic endocrine tumours (PETs) are uncommon tumours with typical morphology characterised by relatively uniform cuboidal cells arranged in nests and festoons, with distinctive nuclear salt-and-pepper chromatin. A lipid-rich variant poses diagnostic difficulties in the midst of other pancreatic tumours and metastatic goblet cell carcinoid. A 22-year-old man presented with symptoms of abdominal pain and jaundice.
