A detailed investigation of the structural, optical and magnetic properties of Cr-doped ZnO nanostructures obtained a simple chemical method has been carried out. The structural study using X-ray powder diffraction indicates the hexagonal wurtzite structure for undoped ZnO and ZnO doped with 1% Cr, whereas the appearance of a secondary cubic phase (ZnCrO) is witnessed with the incorporation of Cr content ≥3% in the ZnO compounds. Furthermore, the secondary phase is observed to increase systematically with the increase of the Cr concentration.

Dilute magnetic oxide semiconductors doped with transition metals have attracted significant attention both theoretically and experimentally due to their interesting and debatable magnetic behavior. In this work, we investigated the influence of Fe, Co and Ni doping on the structural, optical and magnetic properties of SnO nanoparticles, which were produced a simple sol-gel technique. Raman spectroscopy, XRD, XPS, TEM, FT-IR characterizations were performed to study the crystal structure and morphology of the pure and doped nanoparticles, which confirmed the tetragonal rutile structure of the SnO nanoparticles.

Graphene and semiconductor nanocomposite garnered much interest in nanoscience and nanotechnology. In this research, TiO, TiO: Sr and TiO: Sr/r-GO (reduced graphene oxide) nanocomposites have been successfully synthesized via a wet chemical synthesis method. The microscopic studies confirmed the formation of graphene sheets which looked like a paper which could easily wrap over the bacterial surface killing them.

The present study investigates the influence of cobalt doping on the structural and magnetic properties of TiO nanoparticles prepared by a simple wet chemical method. The single phase anatase structure of Co-doped TiO nanoparticles was confirmed by X-ray powder diffraction. A morphological study using scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy indicates the formation of TiO nanoparticles of sizes 6-10 nm.
