Acute kidney injury in children with nephrotic syndrome: a single-center study.

Background: Children with nephrotic syndrome (NS) are at risk for the development of acute kidney injury (AKI) through a variety of mechanisms.The frequency of NS hospitalizations complicated by AKI has almost doubled in the last decade. Children with AKI have longer hospital length of stay and increased need for intensive care unit admission.
