The swift industrial expansion has posed significant environmental challenges, particularly in the context of water pollution. Industrial effluents consist of substantial amounts of harmful pollutants that enter the main rivers via various tapped and untapped drains/local water streams, causing alterations in their physical and chemical properties. This study investigated 153 grossly polluting industries (GPIs) that were identified to release their effluents into the main rivers through different drains within multiple sectors in the industrial zone of four northern states of India in 2023.

The landscape of clinical management for metastatic melanoma (MM) and other solid tumors has been modernized by the advent of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI), including programmed cell death-1 (PD-1), programmed cell death-ligand 1 (PD-L1), and cytotoxic T lymphocyte antigen 4 (CTLA-4) inhibitors. While these agents demonstrate efficacy in suppressing tumor growth, they also lead to immune-related adverse events (irAEs), resulting in the exacerbation of autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA), ulcerative colitis (UC), and Crohn's disease (CD). The immune checkpoint inhibitors offer promising advancements in the treatment of melanoma and other cancers, but they also present significant challenges related to irAEs and autoimmune diseases.

We investigate the two-dimensional behavior of colloidal patchy ellipsoids specifically designed to follow a two-step assembly process from the monomer state to mesoscopic liquid-crystal phases via the formation of the so-called bent-core units at the intermediate stage. Our model comprises a binary mixture of ellipses interacting via the Gay-Berne potential and decorated by surface patches, with the binary components being mirror-image variants of each other-referred to as left-handed and right-handed ellipses according to the position of their patches. The surface patches are designed so as in the first stage of the assembly the monomers form bent-cores units, i.

We study self-assembly in a colloidal suspension of magnetic particles by performing comprehensive molecular dynamics simulations of the Stockmayer (SM) model, which comprises spherical particles decorated by a magnetic moment. The SM potential incorporates dipole-dipole interactions along with the usual Lennard-Jones interaction and exhibits a gas-liquid phase coexistence observed experimentally in magnetic fluids. When this system is quenched from the high-temperature homogeneous phase to the coexistence region, the nonequilibrium evolution to the condensed phase proceeds with the development of spatial as well as magnetic order.

Furukawa predicted that at late times, the domain growth in binary fluids scales as () ∼ , and the growth is driven by fluid inertia. The inertial growth regime has been highly elusive in molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. We perform coarsening studies of the ( = 3) Stockmayer (SM) model comprising of magnetic dipoles that interact long-range dipolar interactions as well as the usual Lennard-Jones (LJ) potential.

Classical federated learning approaches incur significant performance degradation in the presence of non-independent and identically distributed (non-IID) client data. A possible direction to address this issue is forming clusters of clients with roughly IID data. Most solutions following this direction are iterative and relatively slow, also prone to convergence issues in discovering underlying cluster formations.
