Purpose: This systematic qualitative review explored how psychotherapists use their self in therapy within the psychotherapy literature. It sought to examine the key documented ways through which the therapist's self is intentionally used in therapy and the process of using the therapist's self.

Methods: Following PRISMA guidelines, databases including PubMed, ProQuest, APA PsycArticles, and APA PsycINFO were searched.

Background: Older persons occasionally or permanently relocate from their own houses to institutions or old-age homes as a result of the current socio-demographic changes and circumstances. In this scenario, the current study aimed to assess the perceived social support, loneliness, and depression among the elderly living in old-age homes.

Materials And Methods: We have conducted a descriptive cross-sectional study among the elders living in old-age homes in Bengaluru urban, who have been staying in old-age homes for at least 6 months or above, and the age group of 60 years or above.

Pro-inflammatory cytokines upregulate the expression of the HO-producing NADPH oxidase dual oxidase 2 (DUOX2) which, when elevated, adversely affects survival from pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Because the cGAS-STING pathway is known to initiate pro-inflammatory cytokine expression following uptake of exogenous DNA, we examined whether activation of cGAS-STING could play a role in the generation of reactive oxygen species by PDAC cells. Here, we found that a variety of exogenous DNA species markedly increased the production of cGAMP, the phosphorylation of TBK1 and IRF3, and the translocation of phosphorylated IRF3 into the nucleus, leading to a significant, IRF3-dependent enhancement of DUOX2 expression, and a significant flux of HO in PDAC cells.

Histoplasma capsulatum is an opportunistic pathogen which can lead to a wide variety of clinical presentations in the immunocompromised host. Post-transplant histoplasmosis in hematopoietic cell transplant recipients is exceedingly rare, with an incidence of <1%. We present a case of acute caecal perforation resulting from disseminated histoplasmosis in a patient who had undergone autologous bone marrow transplant for plasma cell dyscrasia.
