Studies on urban agglomeration typically focus on the management of urban agglomerations as special types of spatial organization. The problem of finding an adequate management model which accounts for the level of spatial connectivity and socio-economic development of a given territory remains in the background. This article identifies urban agglomeration management models in Russia which account for the agglomerative and socio-economic development of a given territory.

Agricultural droughts cause a great reduction in winter wheat productivity; therefore, timely and precise irrigation recommendations are needed to alleviate the impact. This study aims to assess drought stress in winter wheat with the use of an unmanned aerial system (UAS) with multispectral and thermal sensors. High-resolution Water Deficit Index (WDI) maps were derived to assess crop drought stress and evaluate winter wheat actual evapotranspiration rate (ET).

This paper presents a power-oriented monitoring of clock signals that is designed to avoid synchronization failure in computer systems such as FPGAs. The proposed design reduces power consumption and increases the power-oriented checkability in FPGA systems. These advantages are due to improvements in the evaluation and measurement of corresponding energy parameters.

Micro- and nano-structural organization and its influence on the efficiency of catalysts used in the heat sources for permeable thermoelectric generators were investigated. Two types of catalyst were studied–elemental platinum on aluminum oxide granulate Pt/Al₂O₃ and mixed transition-metal catalyst on fibrous silicon dioxide Co–Cr–Pd–Sr/SiO₂. The distribution of active components in catalytic structures which contribute to the maximum combustion completeness of organic fuel in heat sources was investigated.

The authors have proposed method of separation of methanol extract of Lactarius pergamenus basidiomes and investigation of fractions extracted with hexane which, according to our previous studies, possess the highest antiproliferative and antifungal activity. Main attention was given to fractionation and analysis by gas-liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (GLC/MS) of the fraction 1.4 extracted with hexane.

A new lectin was purified from the daylily (Hemerocallis fulva L.) with the yield of approximately 10 mg per kg of fresh plant rhizome. The purification procedure was based on application of the affinity chromathography on the column with yeast mannan and the ion-exchange chromatography on the column with DEAE-Toyopearl.

A lectin that revealed affinity for lactose, N-acethylactosamine, 4-nitrophenyl-beta-D-gluco- and galactopyranosides from fruiting bodies of Sarcoscypha coccinea (Fr.) Lambette was purified by affinity chromatography on immobilized ovomucoid. According to electrophoresis data in 15% SDS-PAGE the lectin contains two very low-differing components with molecular weight 32 kDa.

Two lectins with different carbohydrate specificity were purified from perch (Persa fluviatilis L.) roe (coastal ecological form) by affinity chromatography on ovariomucine H-sepharose from a human ovary cyst. One lectin was eluted by cellobiose and another lectin was eluted by L-fucose.

Malaria does not belong to a group of diseases that are markers of HIV infection; a combined transmission of malaria and HIV infection does not occur (except for cases of vertical and syringe-associated transmission of causative organisms), but HIV infection is more common in the malaria-endemic areas since both diseases are socially related. Expansion of both infections is associated with the same social processes in society. This paper analyzes the relationship of the spread of HIV-infection to the routes of migration of narcotic agents in case of Russia, by comparing the spread of HIV infection with the regional distribution of cases of malaria imported by Tadjikistan inhabitants.

Submaxillary salivary gland preparations of a horse, a cow, a pig, a rabbit and white outbred rats were stained with peroxidase-labeled lectins of different carbohydrate specificity. It was found that N-acetyl-D-galactosamine-specific lectins (Caragana arborescens Lam., Phaseolus unatus seeds, Helix pomatia sails) bind selectively with myoepitheliocytes.

Anti-A reagent for the detection of the relevant antigen in human red cells and saliva has been developed. The reagent is prepared by dissolution of purified Vicia villosa lectin in the serum of group AB or B diluted 8 times with PBS. This solvent appreciably improves the anti-A selectivity of lectin and is used for titration.

Interaction of D-mannose-specific lectin from Leucojum vernum L. with polysaccharides and glycoproteins has been studied on the column of immobilized lectin and by precipitation. Lectin is found to precipitate human and bovine thyroglobulin, yeast mannan, mannofucogalactans from Aphyllophores mushrooms and rystomycin sulfate.

The lectin from horse chestnut seeds was obtained by affinity chromatography on a sorbent prepared from the egg white, 95 mg of lectin per 1 kg of fresh seeds being obtained. Molecular weight was determined by gel-filtration on tojopearl HW-55 and it composed 132 kDa. SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis revealed the presence of one component with molecular weight of 33 kDa.

Cross-linked starch gel for the affinity chromatography of D-glucose (D-mannose)-specific lectins is suggested. In order to optimize hydrodynamic properties of gel 30% starch has been hydrolysed by HCI at 70 degrees C during 60 min and then cross-linked by epichlorohydrin under alkaline conditions. Every 100 g of starch require 18 ml of epichlorohydrin and 36 ml of 8 N KOH.
