Background: Emotional instability has been extensively considered the main core of the borderline personality disorder (BPD) that is characterised by an important bias towards emotional information. The aim of this study was to determine the emotional bias in patients with BPD by means of an emotional Stroop paradigm.
Sampling And Methods: Sixty-one women (38 Borderline Personality Disorder outpatients and 23 healthy matched control subjects) were included.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFCombining two different samples of cocaine users (N = 183), we tested the factor structure of a brief (12-item), Spanish version of the Cocaine Craving Questionnaire-General using confirmatory factor analysis. The four-factor model provided excellent fit to the measure. Moreover, the measure significantly differentiated between recent cocaine users and abstainers, as well as between participants with different levels of severity of drug-use history.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe purpose of this study is to describe the characteristics of a statistical technique appropriate for analysing multi-episode data (multi-episode survival analysis), and to show its application in modelling the flow of readmissions at an inpatient detoxification unit. Data are from 784 opioid-dependent patients admitted at an inpatient detoxification unit, who totalled 1,255 admission episodes. Information stored prospectively at the unit database was reviewed for the following variables at the time of each patient discharge: episode serial number, sex, route of heroin administration, reason for discharge, time of discharge, and transition time (re-entry into the inpatient detoxification unit).
