Lamiinae (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae) from Panama: new species, new records, and new synonymy.

Three species are recorded from Panama for the first time: Lagocheirus cristulatus Bates, 1872; Leptostylus guianensis Vlasak & Santos-Silva, 2021; and Nealcidion cephaliferum Vlasak & Santos-Silva, 2022. Lepturges (Lepturges) brechlini Santos-Silva et al., 2019 is synonymized with L.

Notes, new records, and transference in South American Cerambycidae (Insecta, Coleoptera).

In this work we report for the first time the presence of 59 species of Cerambycidae (4 species of Prioninae, 25 species of Cerambycinae, and 30 species of Lamiinae) in Mato Grosso do Sul. One of these species, Ozodes infuscatus Bates, 1870, is also recorded from the Brazilian states of São Paulo. Nealcidion bruchi (Melzer, 1934) and Glypthaga arena Galileo, Martins & Santos-Silva, 2015 are recorded from Brazil for the first time.

Cow dung (CD) is a material that has been used for millennia by humanity as a stabilizer in earth building techniques in vernacular architecture. However, this stabilization has been little addressed scientifically. In this study, the effect of CD additions was assessed on earth mortars produced with one type of earth from Brazil and two other types from Portugal (from Monsaraz and Caparica).

Sulfurous thermal waters (STWs) are used as a complementary treatment for allergic rhinitis. However, there is scant data on the effects of STW on nasal epithelial cells, and in vitro models are warranted. The main aim of this study was to evaluate the dose and time effects of exposure to 3D nasal inserts (MucilAir-HF allergic rhinitis model) with STW or isotonic sodium chloride solution (ISCS) aerosols.

Phrynidius Lacordaire, 1869, a genus of Mesoamerican distribution, is a group whose original taxonomic knowledge was generally limited, mainly due to the original descriptions not allowing for the adequate determination of its species. Recently, this knowledge was increased with the description of new species and the publication of a key to separate them. However, this knowledge is still incomplete, and there remain undescribed species deposited in different entomological collections.
