Limited data are available about the coastal ecology of the Calabria region, in the southern Italy. As well, data about the levels of biodiversity and the structure of food webs in these environments are totally missing. However, considering the wide range of physical and ecological conditions distinguishing these ecosystems, a remarkable spread of biodiversity is expected.

This bacterium mainly proliferates in water: Legionella pneumophila is the most commonly isolated specie in water environments and consequently in water system, although further Legionella species have frequently been isolated, including Legionella dumoffii. The simultaneous presence of the two species in the water system can therefore lead to the simultaneous infection of several people, giving rise to harmful outbreaks.

Purpose: The study aims to clinically and histologically evaluate a porcine bone (PB) substitute used for augmentation of the alveolar crest or the maxillary sinus floor prior to or in conjunction with implant placement.
Background: Computerized tomographs (CTs) are commonly used for presurgical planning of dental implant placement. It is possible that implant stability can be predicted based on quantitative measurements of bone density at planned implants sites with the use of diagnostic software.
Purpose: The aim was to evaluate if there is a correlation between bone density measurements in specific implant positions in preoperative CTs and insertion torque (IT) and implant stability measurements when placing the implants.
