A new strategy is proposed for second-order data fusion based on the simultaneous modeling of two data sets using the multivariate curve resolution-alternating least-squares (MCR-ALS) model, applying a new constraint during the ALS stage, called "Proportionality of Scores". This approach allows for the fusion of data from different sources, without requiring common dimensionality, and enables the application of specific constraints to each data set. This strategy was applied to the determination of five pharmaceutical contaminants (naproxen, danofloxacin, ofloxacin, sarafloxacin, and enoxacin) in environmental water samples, by fusing two sets of excitation-emission fluorescence matrices, measured before and after photochemical derivatization.

Introduction: To facilitate the implementation of controlled donation after circulatory death (cDCD) programs even in hospitals not equipped with a local extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) team, some countries have launched a local cDCD network with an ECMO mobile team for normothermic regional perfusion (NRP). In the Tuscany region, in 2021, the Regional Transplant Authority launched a cDCD program to make the cDCD pathway feasible even in peripheral hospitals with NRP mobile teams, which were "converted" existing ECMO mobile teams, composed of highly skilled and experienced personnel.

Methods: We describe the Tuscany cDCD program, (2021-2023), for cDCD from peripheral hospitals with NRP mobile teams.

The frequency of early frosts has increased in recent years, which are injurious to olive growing, causing losses in the yield and quality of virgin olive oil. In this research, it was studied how the management of agronomic factors mitigates frost damage in Arbequina olives, minimizing the loss of phenols and volatiles in virgin olive oil, at different fruit ripening stages. Primary central nervous system (CNS) lymphoma is a very rare aggressive non-Hodgkin disease that originates in CNS (brain, leptomeninges, spinal cord, or eyes). It seems to have increased over the last two decades in both immunocompromised and immunocompetent patients. Primary large B-cell lymphoma involving the cerebellopontine angle (CPA) is extremely rare: only 15 cases of large B-cell lymphoma of the CPA have been reported worldwide; based on our knowledge, no cases studied with MR Spectroscopy.

The highly automated macromolecular crystallography beamline AMX/17-ID-1 is an undulator-based high-intensity (>5 × 10 photons s), micro-focus (7 µm × 5 µm), low-divergence (1 mrad × 0.35 mrad) energy-tunable (5-18 keV) beamline at the NSLS-II, Brookhaven National Laboratory, Upton, NY, USA. This work describes the instrumentation and software for microbeam scattering and structural mapping at the Life Science X-ray Scattering (LiX) beamline at NSLS-II. Using a two-stage focusing scheme, an adjustable beam size between a few micrometres and a fraction of a millimetre is produced at the sample position. Scattering data at small and wide angles are collected simultaneously on multiple Pilatus detectors.

Maroteaux - Lamy syndrome (mucopolysaccharidosis type VI, MPS VI) is a lysosomal storage disease resulting from insufficient enzymatic activity for degradation of the specific glycosaminoglycans (GAG) chondroitin sulphate (CS) and dermatan sulphate (DS). Among the most pronounced MPS VI clinical manifestations caused by cellular accumulation of excess CS and DS are eye disorders, in particular those that affect the cornea. Ocular manifestations are not treated by the current standard of care, enzyme replacement therapy (ERT), leaving patients with a significant unmet need.

This work studies a method of molten salt dealloying via real-time in situ synchrotron three-dimensional X-ray nano-tomography.
