Problem: Quality Improvement (QI) is interprofessional by nature; however, most academic QI programs occur in silos and do not leverage the opportunity to bring interprofessional learners together.

Intervention: To evaluate QI competencies of physician, nursing, pharmacy, behavioral health, and social work residents after participating in a longitudinal QI curriculum. Lessons learned are shared to guide educators in developing QI curriculum for interprofessional learners.

Implementation of large-scale, meaningful interprofessional learning activities for pre-licensure students has significant barriers and requires novel approaches to ensure success. To accomplish this goal, faculty at Case Western Reserve University, Ohio, USA, used the Ottawa Model of Research Use (OMRU) framework to create, improve, and sustain a community-based interprofessional learning activity for large numbers of medical students (N = 177) and nursing students (N = 154). The model guided the process and included identification of context-specific barriers and facilitators, continual monitoring and improvement using data, and evaluation of student learning outcomes as well as programme outcomes.

Background: Few investigators have examined whether cognitive deficits predict poorer self-care of weight management recommendations and weight gain in adults with heart failure.

Objective: The purposes of this study were (1) to examine whether cognition is associated with adherence to daily weighing and weight gain incidence and (2) to explore self-reported symptom perception and management when a weight increase occurs.

Methods: In this observational study, participants completed neuropsychological testing, were given an electronic scale, and were instructed to record their weight for 21 days.
