Dialister pneumosintes is an obligate anaerobic Gram-negative rod associated with infections of the oral cavity. We report on a previously healthy, 51-year-old woman who presented with a liver abscess caused by Dialister pneumosintes as a complication of a dental abscess. The microorganism was identified by using a broad-range bacterial 16S rRNA gene PCR in the liver exudate.
