To attain a profile of protein expression during diabetes, we applied proteomic analysis to glomeruli of 160-day-old db/db diabetic and db/m nondiabetic mice. Glomerular proteins were extracted and separated by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis to construct a proteome map. Matrix-assisted laser desorption and ionization-time of flight mass spectrometry and peptide mass fingerprinting were used to identify 190 proteins.

These findings have been reproduced in 24 human hands transplanted in 18 patients. In CTAs containing bone, adequate bone quality and healing are essential for long-term functional success.

Plasma sodium concentration is maintained even when sodium intake is altered. Sodium homeostasis may involve changes in renal tubular protein expression that are reflected in the urine. We used proteomic analysis to investigate changes in urinary protein excretion in response to acute sodium loading.

We describe an assay that overcomes problems of early assays that were often affected by cTnI degradation, assay interference, poor sensitivity, and imprecision.
Methods: The analytical performance of the Access AccuTnI assay (Beckman Coulter) was evaluated at five institutions.
