Purpose: Metastatic cancers of unknown primary or with unclear diagnoses pose diagnostic and management challenges, often leading to poor outcomes. Studies of the 92-gene assay have demonstrated improved diagnostic accuracy compared with standard pathology techniques and improved survival in patients treated on the basis of assay results. The current study assessed the clinical impact of the 92-gene assay on diagnostic and treatment decisions for patients with unknown or uncertain diagnoses.

It has been described in persons with HIV/AIDS and in those with a variety of HIV-associated opportunistic infections, including those caused by Histoplasma capsulatum. We present one such case in which an abdominal wall endometrioma was found. Resection of the endometrioma with the abdominal panniculus resulted in symptomatic cure for the patient.

In children, myelodysplasia of all types is rare and 5q- syndrome is exceptionally rare. Only 6 cases of 5q- associated myelodysplasia have been reported in children and all 6 cases had blast counts >5% and/or additional cytogenetic abnormalities.
