Purpose: To evaluate the Oxford Knee Score (OKS), EQ-5D-5L utility index and EQ-5D visual analogue scale (EQ-VAS) for health-related quality of life outcome measurement in patients undergoing elective total knee arthroplasty (TKA) surgery.

Methods: In this prospective multi-centre study, the OKS and EQ-5D-5L index scores were collected preoperatively, six weeks (6w) and six months (6 m) following TKA. The OKS, EQ-VAS and EQ-5D-5L index were evaluated for minimally important difference (MID), concurrent validity, predictive validity (Spearman's Rho of predicted and observed values from a generalised linear regression model (GLM)), responsiveness (effect size (ES) and standard response mean (SRM)).

Henry's approach is widely considered the "workhorse" for exposing the volar radius and has not really changed since his original description in 1945. We describe a pronator teres-sparing volar approach to the forearm, for osteosynthesis of midshaft diaphyseal radius fractures. We believe this approach is safe, simple, and reproducible, and has several practical and theoretical advantages over Henry's original description.

QUTA is a positively acting regulatory protein that regulates the expression of the eight genes comprising the quinic acid utilization gene (qut) gene cluster in Aspergillus nidulans. It has been proposed that the QUTA protein is composed of two domains that are related to the N-terminal two domains-dehydroquinate (DHQ) synthase and 5-enolpyruvyl shikimate-3-phosphate (EPSP) synthase-of the pentadomain AROM protein. The AROM protein is an enzyme catalysing five consecutive steps in the shikimate pathway, two of which are common to the qut pathway.
