Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is characterized by pulmonary inflammation that persists after the cessation of smoking. T cells have a major role in driving inflammation in patients with COPD and are activated by specific antigens to produce mediators, such as cytokines. The antigens that activate lung T cells have not been clearly defined.

Capillary haemangiomas are well-circumscribed aggregates of closely packed, thin-walled capillaries separated by connective tissue stroma. In subcutaneous tissue they are termed pyogenic granuloma and commonly follow trauma. They rarely occur in the spine.

Perinatal evolution of mesenchymal hamartoma of the chest wall.

Mesenchymal hamartoma of the chest wall (MHCW) is a rare condition. Previously, surgical resection has been advocated with considerable post-operative morbidity. Evidence for conservative management is lacking because the natural history of MHCW is unknown.

Refractory Bartonella quintana bacillary angiomatosis following chemotherapy for chronic lymphocytic leukaemia.

Bacillary angiomatosis is a well-recognized infection with cutaneous and systemic manifestations caused by Bartonella henselae or Bartonella quintana and occurs in immunocompromised patients. We report a case of B. quintana bacillary angiomatosis following fludarabine-based chemotherapy for chronic lymphocytic leukaemia that was refractory to standard treatment and was complicated by lymphadenopathy and osteomyelitis.
