A 47-year-old woman (gravida 1, para 1) with menorrhagia and pelvic pain was found to have an enlarged fibroid uterus and bladder mass on ultrasonographic imaging. The patient underwent an abdominal supracervical hysterectomy and transurethral bladder mass resection. Histopathologic findings revealed leiomyoma uteri, intramural adenomyosis, and bladder endometriosis.

In 2001, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the first transvaginal mesh kit to treat pelvic organ prolapse (POP). Since the introduction of vaginal mesh kits, some vaginal meshes have been associated with chronic pelvic pain after reconstructive pelvic floor surgery. Pelvic pain results in between 0 % and 30 % of patients following transvaginal mesh placement.

Uterine myomas are the most common type of benign tumor in women of reproductive age and are commonly associated with menorrhagia, dysmenorrhea, dyspareunia, and urinary symptoms. Uterine fibroids have been also linked to infertility and pregnancy loss. Women wishing to preserve or restore their fertility are best treated by myomectomy.

We report a case of transplacental transmission of Salmonella Mississippi resulting in a spontaneous miscarriage at 18 weeks gestation. The miscarriage occurred 1 week after resolution of an acute diarrheal illness. We recommend evaluation by stool culture for Salmonella infection in pregnant women with diarrheal illness.

Introduction: Spontaneous hepatic rupture associated with pregnancy is a rare and very serious complication associated with eclampsia or pre-eclampsia.

Case Report: We report a case of hepatic rupture following eclampsia at 27 weeks gestation which was managed successfully by selective hepatic artery embolisation as an adjunct to liver packing.

Conclusion: Selective embolisation of the hepatic artery is an effective means of therapy for hepatic artery bleeding and is an adjunct to liver packing in spontaneous hepatic rupture in eclamptic patients.
