There is an ongoing debate on the implementation of the COVID-19 passport throughout Europe. We sought to build and test a feasible prevention strategy to ensure low SARS-CoV transmission risk in public events. We conducted a non-randomised controlled study.

A Mechanism for Fair Distribution of Resources without Payments.

We design a mechanism for Fair and Efficient Distribution of Resources (FEDoR) in the presence of strategic agents. We consider a multiple-instances, Bayesian setting, where in each round the preference of an agent over the set of resources is a private information. We assume that in each of r rounds n agents are competing for k non-identical indivisible goods, (n > k).

Osteotome sinus floor elevation without grafting material: Results of a 2-year prospective study.

Objectives: The aim of this prospective clinical trial was to evaluate the success implant rates during 24 months using OSFE procedure without grafting materials.

Study Design: 42 adult patients (22 female, 15 male) were selected according to Nedir et al´s inclusion criteria of which 5 patients were excluded, due to periapical pathology in adjacent teeth (n=3) and treatment with bisphosphonates (n=2). 37 patients aged 31-68 years were selected.

Nondestructive methods for recovery of biological material from human teeth for DNA extraction.

The extraction of DNA from human skeletal remains applied to forensic, and evolutionary studies do not exclude risks, which are to be evaluated when working with unique specimens that could be damaged or even destroyed. In the present study were evaluated several nondestructive methods for recovering DNA instead of the most currently used pulverization method. Three different procedures to access inside the dental pieces (occlusal perforation, cervical perforation, and cervical cut) have been compared with the aim of recovering as many cell remains as possible to carry out a DNA extraction.

Liver transplantation: experience with our first 100 cases.

Objectives: Our goal was to evaluate the results of the first 100 liver transplants performed in our institution.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the first 100 liver transplants undertaken in adults from November 2001 to August 2005.

Results: The mean age of the recipients was 50 years (20 to 69) and 73% were men.

Early clinical and surgical results of biliopancreatic diversion.

Background: Scopinaro biliopancreatic diversion (BPD) for morbid obesity results in significant longterm weight loss and reduction or resolution of obesity-associated co-morbidities. The aim of our work was to describe the early results after BPD.

Methods: 59 morbidly obese patients (BMI >40) underwent open BPD from December 2001 to December 2004.
