Despite sustained efforts, the incidence of PC is projected to rise, and the mortality rate has seen only a marginal reduction over time. A mere 15% of pancreatic cancer cases are deemed resectable upon presentation, explaining the notably low 5-year survival rate associated with this malignancy.

Marine algae are renowned for their health benefits due to the presence of functional bioactive compounds. In this context, this study aims to valorize the extract of a seaweed, (), through phytochemical characterization using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS), as well as in vitro and in silico evaluation of its biological activities (antioxidant and antimicrobial). Phytochemical characterization revealed that the ethanolic extract of (DdEx) is rich in phenolic compounds, with a total of 22 phycocompounds identified.

An Integrated Rapid Response Model for Pediatric Patients Requiring In-Patient Medical Stabilization: Lessons Learned to Enable Regional Capacity Building.

There was an unprecedented surge in admissions for medical stabilization of pediatric patients with eating disorders during the COVID-19 pandemic in Ontario. Eleven hospitals established an integrated rapid response model to ensure timely in-patient access for these patients. This population was cared for in re-allocated community hospital beds as a result of engaging hospital leadership, strengthening partnerships, consulting experts, leveraging existing resources and developing regional bed access strategies.

Granulomatosis With Polyangiitis Mimicking Infective Endocarditis: A Case Report.

Granulomatosis with polyangiitis is a rare systemic disease that causes necrotizing granulomatous inflammation of small- and medium-sized blood vessels. We present the case of a 46-year-old male with medical history significant for chronic sinusitis, prior history of drug abuse, and a recent tooth infection. He was suspected to have infective endocarditis, but further workup revealed diagnostic findings of granulomatosis with polyangiitis.

Additive Manufacturing of an Extended-Release Tablet of Tacrolimus.

An extended-release tablet of tacrolimus as once-daily dosing was fabricated using 3D printing technology. It was developed by combining two 3D-printing methods in parallel. Indeed, an optimized mixture of PVA, sorbitol, and magnesium stearate as a shell compartment was printed through a hot-melt extrusion (HME) nozzle while an HPMC gel mixture of the drug in the core compartment was printed by a pressure-assisted micro-syringe (PAM).
