In the present study, 85% aqueous ethanol extract of stem bark (MESB) showed the isolation of six bioactive compounds including myricanone (), myricanol-5-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (), myricetin (), myricolol (), β-sitosterol (), and β-sitosterol-D-glucoside (). The HPLC approach revealed as a key bioactive compound, with a 69% abundance in the crude ethanol (CE) extract. Furthermore, the CE was assessed for antioxidant activity using DPPH and hydroxyl radical tests, while purified compounds were examined for total antioxidant capacity using cyclic voltammetry and verified using the density functional theory (DFT) method.

Objective: The aim of this study was to highlight the effects of entering duplicated or overlapping data from published studies using the same data registries into a meta-analysis, including its identification and management using a novel structured framework.

Study Design And Setting: Secondary analysis of data from a proportional meta-analysis of 30-day cumulative incidence of venous thromboembolic events (VTE) after metabolic and bariatric surgery was performed. Sensitivity analysis was conducted a) including all studies regardless of duplication (uncorrected sample) and b) comparing it to a corrected sample of studies.

Background: Nirmatrelvir/ritonavir (NMV/r) is an oral antiviral treatment for mild to moderate COVID-19.

Methods: This phase 2/3, double-blind, randomized (1:1) study assessed oral NMV/r 300 mg/100 mg versus placebo every 12 hours for 5 days in high-risk, unvaccinated, nonhospitalized, symptomatic adults with COVID-19 from 343 sites across 21 countries. In testing the primary endpoint of COVID-19‒related hospitalization and all-cause deaths and key secondary endpoints including symptom duration and COVID-19‒related medical visits, Type I error was controlled with prespecified sequential testing and the Hochberg procedure.

Drought is the most important abiotic stress that restricts the genetically predetermined yield potential of the crops. In the present study, four tomato varieties: Kashi Vishesh, Kashi Aman, Kashi Abhiman, and Kashi Amrit, were used to study the effect of PGPMs (plant growth-promoting microorganisms). PGPM strains, BHUPSB14, BHUPSB06, BHUPSB01, BHUPSB0, BHUPSB17, and , were used as the consortium.

Nirmatrelvir-ritonavir was granted emergency use authorization in Israel in January 2022 to treat high-risk patients with mild-to-moderate COVID-19. The aim of the study was to assess the association between nirmatrelvir-ritonavir treatment and COVID-19-related hospitalization and healthcare resource utilization (HCRU) in a country with a high level of vaccinations compared to patients who were offered treatment and declined. The Maccabi Healthcare Services dataset was used to identify high-risk SARS-CoV-2-positive adults from January to February 2022 who received nirmatrelvir-ritonavir within 5 days of symptom onset (treatment group) or who were offered nirmatrelvir-ritonavir treatment and declined it (reference group).

Background: Ceftaroline fosamil is approved for the treatment of complicated skin and soft tissue infections (cSSTI) and community-acquired pneumonia (CAP); however, data on its real-world use and effectiveness in Europe and Latin America are currently limited. This retrospective observational study assessed ceftaroline fosamil use and treatment outcomes in adults hospitalized with cSSTI or CAP treated with ceftaroline fosamil in a usual care setting in Europe and Latin America. Results for patients with cSSTI are reported.

Background: The pre-treatment characteristics of the patient and ectopic pregnancy to determine the patients who are likely to successfully respond to methotrexate (MTX) therapy remain controversial. This study investigated the outcomes of ectopic pregnancy after one and two MTX doses and their independent predictors.

Methods: Retrospective cross-sectional study of women who consented to MTX treatment in 2017-2018 at our institution ( = 317).

Background: The aim of this study was to estimate the impact of mild-to-moderate COVID-19 on health-related quality of life (HRQoL) over time among individuals in the United Kingdom, adding to the evidence base that had focussed on severe COVID-19.

Methods: A bespoke online survey was administered to individuals who self-reported a positive COVID-19 test. An amended version of a validated generic HRQoL instrument (EQ-5D-5L) was used to measure HRQoL retrospectively at different timepoints over the course of an infection: pre-COVID-19, acute COVID-19, and long COVID.
